AnswersYou can use the garden on a patio, the frame will hold together. But it will probably not be deep enough to grow anything but shallow-rooted veggies and herbs. The soil will also not drain properly. I would use a tarp or heavy-duty plastic under the bed to protect the concrete from staining. You might consider putting down a layer of gravel on the bottom to keep the plastic secured and to improve drainage.
Does anyone know what this wood is treated with? (ex. CCA vs. ACQ)?

AnswersThere should not be a reason not to do it. But it is not necessary. The boards are specifically made of cedar, moisture and rot resistant wood that should last a long time without any moisture protection. The liner might protect the interior but exterior still would be exposed.
How do the boards hold up after the boxes are filled with dirt? Is there any bowing of the boards...

greene's raised garden beds
Good selection of cedar. Easy to assemble. Suggest sanding and/or filing to eliminate fuzzy edges for easy assembly. Cedar is a soft wood so some of this should be expected. Very few knots. Worth purchasing and having delivered. Saves looking for, haullng and cutting material to size. Suggestion: use wood glue in conjunction with screwing top cap to all posts.

Better than I expected!
Received my garden bed as promised via tracking UPS. Upon opening the box and seeing the wood pieces to assemble, I was a bit skeptical. It was only after I assembled the first box that I stepped back and realized just how beautiful the wood was. The assembly was quite simple and I can understand why some people would have broken the dovetail ends. It is a gentle assembly process, cannot be too forceful when putting together. I took my time and had it completely assembled in under an hour. I would highly recommend this for any avid gardener and hope to add on to my stair step bed in the years to come.

Easy to Install & Look Great!
I purchased this set plus the 4x4 (10.5") kit online, and then also purchased a 4x4 (7"0 and 4x8 (10.5" & 7") kit in-store. The photo shown with my review is a combination of multiple kits. The tallest box is 17.5"; the middle boxes are 14", and the lowest boxes are 10.5".
Pros: Amazingly easy to install. We did our garden in one weekend while juggling lots of other activities with our kids. The biggest part of the job is leveling the boxes, and filling them with dirt. The actual construction of each box takes just minutes.
Cons: The kits that I ordered online were delivered quickly and all pieces were in perfect condition. The kits that I purchased from the store were not as good. The wood was damp and somewhat warped. Three of the boards were completely unusable - one was even split down the middle into two large pieces!
Another pro: When I contacted Greene's customer service number regarding the damaged boards, they were very polite and offered to send replacement boards via FedEx. I was super impressed by how they handled it, so I would certainly still recommend their products and would use them again in the future.

The machining is poor for random pieces in the pack, and good for others, and I had some edges on the planks didn’t fit into the grooves on the upright pieces at all, and some planks that were warped so the final box didn’t look great because planks don’t sack neatly. I bought two different sets originally intending to create my own design with a mix and match, because I wanted a different height box and layout, and realized that although they say the boxes can stack, it depends very much on which upright height you buy for how well they stack with an overlap that is sufficient to keep the box stable. I ended up reducing the end result size as I picked the best pieces to use, and was disappointed with the overall look, and also ended up putting in screws to secure the boxes I stacked, as it wasn’t secure. Overall disappointed in the quality given the price, and wish I’d not bought a big set without trying out a smaller cheaper set first so I knew what quality I was getting.
