Our raised garden beds are made from solid cedar wood—completely untreated and free from chemicals or stains, making them safe for organic vegetable gardening. Unlike many imported options that use wood scraps bonded with glue and treated with preservatives, we use solid, sustainably sourced cedar. Cedar is naturally rot- and insect-resistant, so sealing is not necessary for longevity. If you prefer added protection or a specific look, you may apply any exterior wood stain or sealer based on your needs.
Can casters be attached to the legs
Yes, casters can be attached to the legs. The legs are 2.5” square, so they provide a solid surface for mounting. Just be sure to pre-drill the holes to prevent the wood from splitting.
Should I put a weed barrier on the bottom and some said they put a layer of sand on the bottom. To keep the dirt from dripping it.?
This elevated garden bed already includes a liner, which is designed to help keep soil in place while still allowing proper drainage, so no additional barrier is needed. Adding a layer of sand at the bottom is not necessary and may actually affect how well the soil drains over time. You can simply use the included liner and fill the bed with your preferred soil for best results.
Since they are rough cut and not treated and I live in Michigan and they will stay outside and I plan on growing food. Should I sand and put a safe natural sealant on them and cover them The winter?
Cedar is naturally rot-resistant, making it an excellent material for outdoor garden beds. Since you plan on growing food, using a natural, food-safe sealant could help if you’re concerned about moisture absorption or weathering, but it is not necessary. Sanding the wood to allow for the stain to adhere better is a good option if you choose to seal it. We do not recommend covering the beds during winter. Cedar performs well outdoors as-is, even in harsh winters. Lastly, we advise against disassembling the beds for winter, as this can compromise their structural integrity over time. They’re designed to withstand the elements, so you can leave them in place confidently.

It’s been awhile since I bought these (2 of them) I don’t remember how much assembly I had to do but I do remember I did it myself and they went together quite nicely and fairly quickly. They’ve also held up very nicely, I’m very pleased with them.
