AnswersYes, there is a warning in letters but most people put outlets 12 inches from the ground and you won't notice it.
I assume this is for a double outlet. Can anyone confirm? Thank you.

AnswersYes. But it will not be waterproof. Maybe weatherproof. And the spring hinge will force it shut constantly.

What they don't show you on the listing is that there is raised lettering all over the front of this outlet cover which is supposed to be exposed outdoors for all to see. It is not aesthetically pleasing in the least and was a total surprise. Found one with no lettering on it thru another resource and plan to use that one instead.

If you are looking for an outdoor GFCI outlet cover, there are fewer if no local options available around here (South Texas) unless you are willing to go with the bubble / 'in-use' variety. Ordering was painless and I picked up at the store. As I get older I look for more 'Made in the U.S.A.' products to support what I can although I do so with the caveat that it does not mean a superior product. The outlet cover had chipped paint/powder-coat, did not initially close all the way (the foam in the lid is too thick), and has multiple unfinished mold lines. But it is a cover and does what it is supposed to. It will not rust (not steel) and once installed properly leaves a weather tight seal in my application. Perfection is not expected for such an item but comparing it to the individual opening socket outlet cover (also made in the U.S.A.) it replaced from 1984 it is obvious to see that corners were cut.
