Answer This Question
A:Â Hello Beth,
The units are not designed to be joined in a way as you describe. The primary issue will be the port for watering each subsequent planter will be blocked. If you can engineer around this I would say maybe three units linked at a time. This is because the addition of soil will start to make things very heavy. Make sure that the planters are secured to wall studs to help manage the weight. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

No problems so far. Exactly what I needed.
I have not installed irrigation system or pump. I am only reviewing the container itself. Mine arrived in perfectly good shape and I am glad I didn't have to assemble it. I ended up ordering the base rather than bolt it into my stucco walls and again am glad I spent the extra money (base is not cheap, alas). It is on wheels now and I can roll it where I need to. I planted lettuce in it with seed tape and the combo seems perfect. The only thing I will keep an eye on is the moisture levels. The water obviously runs down so the bottom levels tend to be very wet and the top level drier. The ones in between are like Goldilocks and "just right". I have spinach on the bottom and spinach on the top and while both are coming up, the top level is doing a bit better though I do find I have to lightly water it in between general watering. So far though, all good. I did not love spending the money but for my container "urban" garden, it seems worth it. One more note: I did purchase the Grownomics oil and treated the shelves and base with it before adding soil to hopefully prolong the life of the wood.

Good Concept
I had to order this product twice and both times the base of the unit was not attached. The first one didn't have a packing/assembly instruction sheet and a few of the boards were cracked. So, when the second one came the same way, I called, the base was just stapled in place with less than 1/2" staples! Really?!! They said they have started to use larger staples, doesn't help me. THEN I follow the directions what little there is, for a right hand hose connector, silly me for not paying attention that they miss-marked the unit and I used the red "x's" for the right but got a left hand connection. At this point I had already hammered the hose connector into the too small hole, that baby is not coming back out! At the top on both sides they have a black x with a red x over it, hmmmm, did someone make a mistake, which side do I use, oh, of course, they meant to use it for either right or left, just no words telling you that.
Overall, I love the concept, I think the product is of questionable quality for the price. Since this was a birthday gift and I have fixed and modified the unit I will keep it BUT I was looking at some of their other products and I WILL NOT be buying them.
