The Gutter Guard doesn't have an aluminum support / "rib" system like the GutterGlove Pro. What will prevent heavy snows from depressing / bending in the surface of the mesh?
Asked by: Rosewood
I have high hopes that the huge 7 ounce butternuts that are the size of a tennis ball which will fall on these in my back yard do not destroy my system, that is my only fear. However I would not want ribs as in my opinion they would likely hold more leaves as they provide a place for the leaves to bunch up. I think you are better off with these since they have no ribs.

You need a lot. The boxes come with 10 pieces inside. Each piece is 4 feet long. If I were you I would order the 5 boxes to start. You may fall short if you have a lot of corners and just cut as you go. I suggest you draw a layout on a sheet of paper first which shows where you will have to cut for corners and or short pieces. In doing that you will be able to figure out just which pieces you need to cut and the best way to incorporate those cuts into your layout giving you the least amount of waste.

Is the 5" dimension from the outside of edges of the gutter gutter or from the area that is covers with screen?
Asked by: Mac
When deciding if you need a Standard 5" or Super 6" Gutter Guard by Gutterglove you will measure from the very front lip of your gutter to the back back of the fascia board. You can also call us at (866)892-8442 or email us at customerservice@gutterglove.com for personalized installation advise.

I have several 90 degree turns with my gutters. Do I have to cut each end at a 45 degree angle? Or do they recommend just cutting them straight and butting the ends together?
Asked by: Tim
I highly suggest you draw out your layout on paper so you can try to figure out how many pieces you have to pre cut to lessen waste. I used the short pieces on other sections and had zero waste upon completion. You should buy the right angle measuring tool to measureand pre-mark your corner angles prior to cutting. It is inexpensive, and comes in plastic or metal. Well worth it to get the correct corner cuts!

I bought the 3-pack in order to test the product on a difficult inside corner. Time will tell if it performs better than what it replaced, but I'm very pleased so far with the quality of the product, design, and instructions. Installation instructions are clear, well written and illustrated, and cover every configuration I ran up against. I was particularly pleased that they included not only the screws to go with it but the driver to use with a drill. The installation looks great; much better and cleaner than before. The only issue I had was difficulty with cutting the rails and mesh with metal snips. It was hard cutting the rails and the mesh just wanted to fold over the shearing blades. I gave up and got out my angle grinder with a cutting wheel (but wear goggles if you do this - little pieces of metal get thrown around). After that things went quickly. Assuming it performs well over the winter and spring, I'll definitely get more to replace the rest of my gutter guards.

I have several large oak and pine trees in my yard and was getting tired of cleaning my gutters 6-8 times a year so I installed the Gutter Guard by Gutterglove a couple of months ago. They are working great so far, the leaves are blowing off the roof as advertised, The trick seems to be to install them on an angle mimicking the roof pitch as shown in the instructions and not flat to the top of the gutter. There are several install videos on the gutterguard website that are good. The only thing missing is the best way to cut the gutter guard where the gutter ends 6-12" past a gable valley. Beware of some of the other YouTube videos as they do not follow good practice IMHO. As a side I could not get the www.gutterguard.com/review/ website to work. I filled in the form to get the free brush but it would not get past the spinning icon when the page was submitted. Tried using 2 different browsers with popup blocker turned off and 3rd party cookies enabled. Guess they do not want to give up the free brush.

Initially I covered the gutters surrounding a small courtyard. That has worked out very well so I later covered one side of my house where there are several deciduous trees. Finally, I covered the remaining portions of my gutters. For the first set I mounted them by tucking the gutter guards under the 3-tab shingles. This gave a nice slope to the screens that helped keep any debris from collecting on the screens. I had some concern about water wicking under the shingles (although it has not happened) so the remaining covers are mounted flat. Both methods have worked well. The screens are very easy to install. The initial screens have been in place for three years now with no issues. An occasional light bushing easily removes the debris and leaves. One suggestion when mounting them. If you will end up with a small piece at one end it is better to cut two pieces and use two medium length screens for better support.

The product itself is excellent, as are all the explanatory materials (manual, videos, etc.). A sentence I never thought I'd utter: installing the GutterGuards brought me joy! At 65, I don't relish climbing extension ladders anymore, and with each section installed I thought, "I'm never going to have to do this again!" I had tried other guards before, but none of them were effective at keeping out the redwood needles that plague our gutters and downspouts. Now I just watch as the redwood debris sits on top of the GutterGuards and nothing gets through. I don't mind sweeping the debris off because I can do that from the ground. Two suggestions: (1) I took the time to repair rivets and seams--well worth the extra time. (2) In the manual you'll see you have to cut off this little corner of the mesh on both ends of the outside edge. It's much easier to do this to all the sections at once, while you're on the ground, than to do each piece while on the ladder. I wholeheartedly endorse GutterGuards!

I looked at all the different types of gutter covers and Gutter Guard just looked the best quality. I thought I was going to have a problem during installation and they I found the pages that showed how to bend the panels to fit and it worked great. I just used the double stick foam tape to hold the panels down (I did clean the edge of the gutters with some liquid cleaner and a rag to make sure the tape would stick). There were no problems that were not easily resolved. When I had to cut a panel, I found that my tin snips would not work very well so I used a hack saw to cut the aluminum and they used the tin snips to cut the mesh. I had one really short piece, about 8 inches and I had to use a couple of screws to hold it down but no big deal. I was really proud of the finished job and I don't think I will ever have to worry about gutters full of leaves again. These are really nice panels and they go on fairly easily. I would recommend these to anyone who has a problem with gutters getting clogged with leaves.

Our pet porcupine after a month of needles raining down from our neighbor's trees. After having removed other gutter system failures, this was selected based on the fine mesh screen. We installed 40 feet of this over brand new gutters after a remodel on a 5-in-12 pitch roof using the included screws (the tape supplied is too permanent). One note about installing: you really want high leverage snips or a fine-tooth hacksaw to cut the aluminum extrusion backbone. Thus far they have been up for a month, and we have had moderate rain on several occasions. The only problem is that our neighbor's pine trees shed such fine needles that they get stuck in the mesh and it looks a bit like a porcupine has taken up residence. Don't believe it? Just look at the picture taken AFTER cleaning with the recommended brush. My rating is based on my judgement of the product, but my personal experience is less than ideal. So, my bottom line is that you have to choose a gutter guard system based on the challenges you face. This may not be perfect for me but there is nothing better out there since I really have had it with cleaning them out every other month.

Very impressed with the construction and materials used. You have the option of using double sided tape (appears to be a 3M knockoff) which is already stuck to the guard or using self tapping screws to install the guard. HIGHLY recommend installation with the screws as the tape started to come loose in a couple of days when I tried the tape install. I washed the gutters well prior to installation Used ample pressure to attach them. Personally I believe they should just save the cost of the tape. Not sure short of acetone or Opps what I could have done different? Now that they are screwed in place, I give them a 5 stars........Great product!

They were well made and very easy to install. There were two areas of concern with interior corners and a diverter shield on one end but it was very easy to install. I went to gutterglove website and they addressed the the interior corners and how to cut the pieces to fit. The method I used was slipping the guard under the shingle and taping it down. There were three areas I needed to use screws because of how the gutter was configured but it was simple to use the screws (self drilling)Another consideration was installing lights and keeping the Satellite dish cords on the roof. What I used to tackle that issue was plastic Christmas light holders. You can see it in one of the pictures. Not pictured are those patio lights hanging with the same clips on the back of the house. I would recommend these guards. PS. These guards made it through Dorian. :)
