Would the sponge hold the water and rot your wood
Vickie, GutterFoam does not act like a sponge and absorb water. The water flows through the foam. It will not weigh down or rot any wood.
We are considering use to fill the gap between cement floor and knee wall in a screen porch. Will the foam be an effective insect (i.e. mosquito) barrier?

Brian, Yes, GutterFoam works with pine needles. The pine needles will lay on top of the GutterFoam and then blow off with the wind. Occasional maintenance may be required, which would just involve brush or spraying off the foam to remove anything that does not blow off from the wind. All gutter guards need some maintenance, but GutterFoam is the easiest to maintain.

Occasional maintenance is required with any gutter guard. GutterFoam is the easiest gutter guard to maintain. Anything that is not blown off with the wind, brush or spray off as needed. A little maintenance is easier than cleaning out the gutters, and will allow GutterFoam to keep performing a peak performance year after year.
