Anyone noticed a different in their yearly hot water tank flush? I usually get a ton of limescale...

There should be less because of no new buildup. The first flush will show more because of the breakup of the existing scale

Where do we install this thing? Do we install it on the pipe before it gets to the water heater? ...

Answer

Asuming you only have one incoming water line, you install it on the incoming cold water line and it covers all the water to the whole house, including the cold water to the hot water heater. Hope this is helpful.

How is this product installed

Asked by Chrissy December 10, 2020

Answer

As they suggest, I installed my unit on the incoming water line after the meter and shut-off valve. The directions that come with the unit are easy to read and make installation a breeze. Wrap the wiring as described in the directions around a straight section of the waterline, attach the wires to the unit, and then plug it in as instructed.

So, when do I replace this? How long it will last descaling my water?

Asked by Sai November 25, 2020

Answer

There is no need to replace the unit. There is a 3 year warranty with the product.

How does this get rid of iron?

Hello, It does not get rid of iron. Since you are no longer building up scale because of the unit the iron has less places that it can stick to. Scale is the main catalyst for minerals build upon

I installed mine after the Whole House filter. That is the recommendation from the Manual.

can this be put over heat tape

No, the unit works off of induction and the current of the heat tape will nullify the magnetic field being produced.

Broken After 8 Months
I have not noticed any change yet and I said I will give it a shot since it is not fair to say that it does not work versus a system that built mineral deposits for the past 10 years but the device broke and malfunctioned after 8 months. The device's light indicator kept turning to red after several tries of turning it on and off. It will turn to blue and remain for about 3 minutes then turns back to red. Red indicates that there is a power issue per troubleshooting guide in the manual. The warranty says 3 years but if its actual life is good for 7 to 8 months then what would be the motivation to keep it?

This is a zero maintenance way to condition water to reduce mineral buildup. I use this on a two family building to get more life out of the water heaters and faucets. I know from past experience these do work. It was a bit tricky to install because it requires a wire to be wrapped around a pipe. Once that is done connecting the unit is a snap. Then all that is needed is to plug it in. I like how simple it is and basically no maintenance is required.

Installing the H2oElite took a little bit of time. The installation video on the companys webside could have been better. It is an animation, and I always do better with real people showing how to install a product. That being said it me over 2 hours to install as I had to double wrap the copper pipe that supplies our water. Its been about a week that is has been in use and have already noticed the water seems softer - bathtub/shower floor seem more slippery. Will have to get a water test kit to be sure.

I installed this myself, fairly easy to do. Instructions were easy to follow. Toughest part was wrapping the coil since I had to do that in my crawl space with not much room to work. Installed the unit itself in the laundry room above the water supply and drilled holes in the floor to run the wires down into the crawlspace. My water is 12 GPG (Very Hard) and this unit is supposed to take 90 days to really work well as it takes that long to clean the scale in the existing pipes. After a week or so of use, we noticed more calcium spots in the sinks as expected from the pipes clearing, and they were easy to clean as compared to the really hard water spots before. It's been over a month now and the the biggest thing we've noticed is the water feels different in the shower and our hair washes better. So, unit appears to be doing what it says it does. Only downside I can think of is the blue lights stay on all the time to show that it is working. It'd be nice if there was a way to turn them off.

Electronic water conditioner installed for about 2 weeks and can't tell yet if it has made any improvement in quality of water as I have a R. O system. It may take some time. It came with instructions to place in operation. The first one received did not light up when pluged in so it was returned and Home Depot assisted in process.

I'm really impressed with this product. After doing a little research on the technology and reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I'm very impressed with this so far. I have only been using it for a few weeks. I have city water and it is no longer hard! My water was not really hard but enough for me to try this out. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who has hard water.

It's been a few months and I have seen a difference. I don't see near as much calcium buildup on my shower heads or in my faucet. I have to say this was about the easiest set up. You literally wrap and plug. If you have a hard time with it there are several videos on installation. Also don't forget to do the test! I would recommend it.
