The Halo HL4RSMF is a 4 in. recessed lighting, new construction, mounting frame that is perfect for install from below fixtures (i.e. canless lighting). Great for new construction projects in lieu of a can or housing. Canless lighting goes where LED can lights can't. Using this mounting frame, you can easily reserve space in the ceiling for your canless recessed lights and provide routing guidance for the drywall contractor. This Halo recessed lighting mounting frame works for round and square Halo canless lighting fixtures (including HLB, HLA, RLDM and RADM product families). Attach the driver junction box to the building structure and use this LED recessed lighting fixture to meet local code requirements where install from below fixtures must be supported directly by building structure. (6 mounting frames included).

Use this galvanized steel mounting frame to easily reserve space in your ceiling for canless recessed lighting
Provides tool-less attachment of remote driver/junction box to recessed lights
LED recessed lights mounting frame has offset aperture and integral bar hanger receivers
Halo 4 in. LED mounting frame locking screws provide positive horizontal locking
Break-outs allow the frame to accept square fittings; note: frame cannot be reverted to accepting round fittings after the break-outs are removed
Got nail, Gen 3 bar hangers adjust from 8 in. to 24 in. wide
Pass thru feature allows shortening without removal
Captive nail penetrates standard and engineered lumber
Mounting flange levels platform with ceiling
Integral clip attaches directly to tee bar
Can be used to meet local code requirements where can lights installation from below fixture fittings must be supported directly by building structure

A: You can buy the lights that don't have cans and cut holes in the drywall. That's what I decided to do instead.

A: This frame is for new work. You put this up prior to hanging drywall.

Q:Bought several lights to install. The template in the box says cut hole 4 3/16". Seems to large? Drilled sample 4" hole and light fit through just fine. However, the hole is still large and light can be moved about 1/2" sideways. Would like tight fit.

Works with cloudy bay 4" lights

These ended up working pretty well for my cloudy bay 4" wafer lights. It is a little snug but basically the perfect fit for them. Might be worth making sure they aren't too small for your lights with one box first if you can buy in store.

These work great with my 5" light.

I'm using these to add recessed lights to my basement. The frame is adjustable and its 4" hole accommodated a 5" retrofit light. Build quality seems good and not annoying. I will most likely be purchasing more of these in the future.
