The piece is beautiful and high quality. It should be known it is a “butcher block” style where multiple boards are glued together and the live edge is not a true live edge but it looks great. I didn’t even stain it, just a satin polyurethane.

Beautiful but Issues
I bought this to be used as my dining table. I connected some modern steel legs to it and a few coats of poly matte clear to get the table looking perfect and within a few weeks, one of the seams has began separating. Very disappointing considering the cost!

Gorgeous product!
Bought the Saman slab after looking at photos of the gorgeous colors in this wood! Repurposed a piece of furniture I bought in Madagascar with this top. Bought the butcher block mineral oil and gave it four coatings given the thick wood. I was worried from other reviews it could crack so made sure the mineral oil was doing its magic. The dark and light swirling colors really came out once the mineral oil was applied! Attached it to my repurposed piece and looks so amazing!

Cost effective hardwood project panel
Made a dining table using the 30 x 72 saman board. The result is quite satisfying. There are a few tiny cracks filled with wood filler in grey/beige color but don’t affect the overall look.
