Why are these NOT the same rags they used to be ?They used to be the best now they are cheap thin and terrible to use we used to use 1-2 bags a month can someone tell me where to get the old style?
We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction on the product. The product was upgraded to a whiter, lower lint t-shirt material. This change was made based on negative online product reviews and feedback. Unfortunately, the old style has been discontinued.
Why do some reviewers say this is a plastic tarp? They are cotton rags used for staining furniture, are they not? Just want to ensure what I’m ordering is what will be arriving!
These are smooth cotton knits -- no plastic. They are great for staining and polishing furniture.
Are these lint-free rags
No, this is a single (one piece) heavy duty plasticized tarpaulin. ( used it to cover our 12 x 20 foot pergola, being sure it was well anchored ( after the previous light-weight tarp lasted only two weeks). It had just survived winds in excess of 59 mph (not just gust or two, but sustained). I am thoroughly impressed!
They're not 100% lint-free. I just stained my deck and used these to wipe off the excess oil. Took some very rough boards for these to leave lint, so I'd say 99%. If you're using it on smooth-finished wood I don't think you'll get any lint left behind.

I bought 2 cans of stain for our fence and had a color mixed with it and it is so dark I dislike it so much can I return it
As I read the Home Depot return policy, custom mixed paints and stains are not returnable unless there was an error in mixing the paint or stain. I am assuming that at least one of your cans is unused. I cannot promise you that Home Depot will replace your stain but I would still give the Home Depot location where you purchased the stain the opportunity to do so.
Why is this question on a rag product? Generally speaking, once you open a can, it's yours. You can return the unopened can if it was not a custom mix.
