Rather stiff and quiet while being good at it's job without being ostentatious.

Has any one bought the 14 in handle instead of the 12 in? Just wondered if there was a big difference. The 12 in is out of stock.

Hello HJones - Thank you for your question. Although the wood handles on both broom are 1 1/8" in diameter, the the main difference between the two is the sweeping path. The 14" has sweeping bath 16" wide. It is a little heaver, thicker and has more sews in the broom head making it more durable for bigger jobs. The 12" has a sweeping path of 13" wide and is a little lighter and more for everday sweeping indoors, garges and porchs, etc. Both corn brooms are great. Thank you!

I have had this broom for about 4 years now and have been very happy with it. It cleans up as expected. I have not had any issues of it falling apart yet. The handle is nice and sturdy, yet lightweight. I use this to clean up the garage in the tight areas. This product met my expectations and there isn't anything that I dislike about it.

This is a good broom. But remember its a corn broom. It can only last so long. As far as straw coming out. They all do this. I bought one for twice as much from Amazon, and it was worse. Works great for sweeping snow, sidewalks and basement/garage. And the wood handle is a plus to recycle for wood projects after she's worn out. Only a broom and I love it.

Good indoors bad outdoors
I wanted this broom for outdoors sweeping of leaves and other debris into a large upright dustpan. However, the bristles are too long or too soft, or a combination of both. Because when sweeping a pile of leaves into a dustpan, the bristles bend and give and cannot push the leaves into the dustpan. I have since made it an indoor only broom, where it performs great sweeping up small indoor trash particles instead. NOT STURDY ENOUGH FOR OUTDOOR USE.

Do not buy! Piece of junk. Won’t sweep properly because it is so thin that the bristles are not dense enough to grab anything.
This is not your father’s old corn broom! I just bought this in store and took it home and tried to sweep and realized that because the stalks/fibers are not dense enough they can’t sweep properly and so you end up going over the same ground you just swept a second ago because it didn’t pick all the pieces of grass or whatever else you’re sweeping up the first time. I don’t know what happened to the quality of corn brooms, but they have definitely degraded over time because the original one I still have is much much better than what is being sold now by Home Depot.
