Does this have any places where water/debris can get trapped and make it hard to rinse off?

Cleans up pretty well. You just have to make sure the skirt on bottom is down. Otherwise it will trap water/debris inside the bellows.

Is the plunger rubber? If yes, is it thick rubber and are there any instances of the rubber tearing?

Wonderful product. I had a dirty one that was in the place I moved into. I bought a clean new one. What a miracle! :) It's all plastic, no wood that will absorb whatever and likely be stained forever. The handle fits tight and goes over the rubber so no water will get in there and possibly create a smell... What's NOT to love? The price was great, too. So good I bought a small sink plunger, too.

Hello - Thank you for taking the time to give us a rating and choosing our products. The flange design on the plunger is the extra ring of rubber (the flange) around the cup. The flange is inserted into the toilet drain, sealing in the air and increasing the suction power. If this is not the product you have, we would like to help resolve your issue and will be sure to share your experience with our quality department. Please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at 877-272-7755 and reference this review. We look forward to assisting you.
