A:Â The handle does unscrew from the broom.
It depends on the size of the paint roller handle receptacle as to whether it can be attached.

For the price, this 2-piece is excellent.
Dustpan: great size, great quality, does what it needs to do. Can be washed in water easily...will dry easily in time. No complaints.
Broom: all is excellent with this broom except for its angle...that personally annoys me, but it still is good enough. Great quality and all else. Only complaint is the angle on the actual black-hair-fiber-broom itself. That angle makes it hard to sweep-off sidewalks, for example. It still works, it’s just not as effective and efficient as a flat-head (no angle) broom.
Special note to read: this 2-piece set comes with a 10-year-limited-warranty. Special conditions apply, but still, that’s hard to beat. Keep your 1 plastic-sleeve-packaging, and your receipt for this, that’s it.

I have, apparently, in my house and shop, a pet broom gremlin who, while being invisible, always makes his presence known to me by making brooms that I buy (And I buy many) also invisible. The reason I know that the brooms are being consumed by the invisible pet broom gremlin is because I have 2 broken ones and those two never disappear. My invisible pet broom gremlin seems to not like eating broken brooms - he or she only likes to eat brooms that are in good operating condition. This is similar to my cat, who will only eat pate. So because I have to constantly buy brooms to feed the invisible broom gremlin, I pay closer attention to value versus cost when I buy brooms. These are good brooms that hold up better than my broken ones. But just like any other pet food, I wish they cost less because I have to buy them all the time.

I didn't realize what I was missing until I bought the HDX broom to replace two broken down dime-store brooms and a mismatched dustpan. The jumbo-sized HDX broom does more work with less energy. The bristles are strong and uniform. They're made to do the job right the first time. The matching dustpan has a flexible rubber edge that facilitate the removal of all debris, even the smallest crumbs.
The handle is strong, yet it isn't heavy to hold. They say you need the right tool for a job, and the HDX Broom is the right tool for the job of sweeping. I've been using this broom indoors and outdoors for several weeks now, and there isn't a better broom out there. It's sturdy and reliable. It puts the dime-store brooms to shame and I have pictures to prove it. Don't waste your money on the other cheap brooms. On one of the dime-store brooms, the top part of the handle snapped off while I was brushing the soffits on the house. The sharp jagged aluminum type material protruded exactly where my hand was supposed to hold it. Not a good scenario. The other broom's bristles gave up very quickly and stopped working altogether. I would brush and brush, but a trail of dust/crumbs/cat hair would be streaked across the floor. Then, the dime-store dustpan had 2-3 centimeter rise on it's front edge. Only the largest crumbs could make it's way into the dustpan. Literally, I had to dampen a paper towel every time just to finish picking up whatever was left on the floor. These were not cheap to buy, either, even though they were from a dime-store. They cost as much, if not more, than the really nice HDX broom. Time and energy (and $$) are wasted using a sub-par dime-store broom.

Strong Broom
Lets face it. It's a broom. Not much you can say except if it works, its a pretty good thing. They are pretty much meant for sweeping up debris around the house, yard, office or any place dirt can build up. With that said, this is a great, strong broom. The bristles are strong and with the angle, can get into the corners with ease. The broom is ultra light too. The dust pan is huge as well. It has a nice rubber edge that helps get dirt up into the pan. The only (teeny tiny) complaint, if I were to have one, ( the 4 star rating) would be the handle itself is only 44 inches. If you are taller than 5'7 - 5'10, lets say, you may think the handle is a little too short. But overall, its a great broom and you can't go wrong with the dust pan included.
