Product Overview

HOLDRITE stout system is suited for lavatory, shower, toilet, water heater and various vertical and horizontal applications. The multi-purpose galvanized steel brackets can be used nearly anywhere and are ideal for applications where high strength is required. The slot-and-hole pattern permits wide versatility in positioning; clamps and fittings can be mounted vertically or horizontally. They attach between studs or joists and a bendable end tab design allows for recessed or surface mounting.

SUMMARY: A GREAT ITEM FOR DOING GOOD TURNOUTS. BACKGROUND: I’m redoing some plumbing in my shop and wanted to avoid in-wall connections. I decided to use HOLDRITE 704 turnouts and the HOLDRITE 103-18 support bracket. FIT AND FINISH: This is a new product line for me, but the turnouts looked fairly sturdy. FEATURES: The fittings are designed for use with 3/8 or ½ inch PEX tubing. The web page description (3/8 – 1 inch) is wrong. The turnouts can be installed into three different mounting brackets, or nailed or screwed directly to a support. INSTALLATION: I was working in 50 degree temperature and the 1/2” PEX was STIFF. I mounted the bracket first, installed the turnouts, but then had difficulty bending the PEX to thread it through, or lock it into, the turnouts. I ended up dismounting the brackets, bending the PEX into the turnouts, then reattaching the assembly to the studs. When installed, the turnout keeps the PEX away from the back of the wall. SUMMARY: I like this product line and the fittings PROS: Part of integrated system. Easy to use.

This review is of the Holdrite PEX turnout for 3/8” to 1/2” tube, package of 2. The item is made of a sturdy plastic and constructed in a way that it will not bend. It is designed to be used with a metal channel that is sold separately. The tubing is kept in the turnout with tabs at both ends. It is easy to get the tubing in and out but it won’t come out on it’s own. I used this item in a different way and did not need the metal channel. I had a hose I use in my workshop that would kink when I pulled on it. I used one of the turnouts to prevent this. Excellent solution to my issue.

The HOLDRITE 3/8 INCH TO 1/2 INCH PEX TURNOUT arrived in a well padded carton. It was sealed in its own plastic bag with two pieces. I selected it because of the Holdrite name. I like the plastic material composition. The specific feature is the locking tabs on each end. I will use it when a turn is made with the Pex tubing, preventing a kink. The quality is excellent. Easy to use and to secure it to a wall, stud etc. It'll work out fine like all the Holdrite fasteners. I like it.

I used the HOLDRITE 3/8 IN. -1 IN. PEX TURNOUT on the waterlines to my clothes washer. I attacked the turnouts to the metal toilet bracket with the turnouts on each line. The turnout holds the lines firmly in place while allowing some flexibility. The turnouts eliminated the possibility of the lines bouncing, when the water is turned on or off, and hitting the wall.

Love Pex! I had my barn replumbed last year as it was finished orginally with PVC for the water pipe. Every year - broken pipes! No more with PEX. I did notice the plumber didn't support some of the turns, so when I saw these, I found the solution. I've now gone through the barn plumbing and added these in all the places that needed support. Since they are open faced, it was easy to get in place, so they can be used for new or old work.

The HOLDRITE 3/8 IN. -1 IN. PEX TURNOUT is listed to work with either 3/8 or 1/2" PEX however, I found that not to be the case. I could get the 1/2" PEX pipe into this holder it would go in about 1-1/2" and no further. The PEX pipe is not very pliable and will not make the bend to the radius of this holder if I had a 1/2" turnout maybe it would work but they list this as usable for 1/2" and that is not what I am experiencing so for my needs they will not since I already have the 1/2" pipe.

If you are not using these perfectly designed components in your plumbing installation, then you are truly a Do-It-Yourselfer and not a very good one at that. It may look like all is well when you're done, but the time will come when vibration and water pressure add up to a wet wall and a big repair ... one that could have been avoided so easily with a couple of well shaped and inexpensive pieces of plastic. Do what the pros do ... install these pex guides at every turn.

Hold Rite 704 ½” PEX Turn Out Fitting – This fitting allows the PEX tubing to be bent in a 90 degree elbow or turn without kinking or deforming the tubing, this turn out fitting will integrate with Hold Rite brackets #103, #110-R and #709, The turn out fitting can be installed directly to studs using the provided mounting holes, using turnout fittings reduces the number of fittings in the walls as well as more costly copper stub outs for sinks and toilets and these turnout fittings accept all manufactures PEX tubing…These PEX fittings as well as other PEX fittings will be part of a domestic water system being installed in shed / storage building, due to the ability of PEX tubing to not crack or burst when frozen…All the PEX fittings and tubing I installed performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems...

When working with PEX it can be a bit of a pain making a 90 degree turn. The pipe will move and want to push into areas you are working. These turn outs can be a little tough to put the pipe in but once in, they are terrific. They make nice clean work of plumbing when you are doing the work in tight spaces. I am sold on another PEX items. I went to PEX for ease of use and here we are.

I thought these would be a bit different and could use for other plumbing projects. I do not want to go out and buy a complete PEX kit for future plumbing projects. They would be a great idea for someone that uses PEX in house or changing over to PEX plumbing. This item is made to help with gentle curve vs. sharp curve to kink to tubing, as you do not want to kink any of the water lines. I might use this with copper plumbing as we have this in both houses.
