Thank you for your question. The Roppe Kenya (Internet # 316621792) is the intended coordinating stair nose for Barrett Distressed Hickory.
Thank you for your question. Barret Distressed Hickory does not have an attached pad. We recommend installing the floor over a moisture barrier. Sound control underlayment can lessen noise when the floor is in use. For specific instructions for your underlayment, please see the underlayment manufacturers application guidelines.
Thank you for your question. Barrett Hickory is intended to be installed as a floating floor and is not warranted for any other type of installation. If you would prefer to glue down the floor I would suggest first calling our technical services line to discuss the effects of alternate installations and how to minimize your risks.
Thank you for your question. Barrett Hickory has a distressed finish, which is intended to give it a worn, aged appearance. This is similar to other styles of finish, such as hand scraped, although there may be some differences. If you'd like to discuss this further, please contact our technical services department at 877-630-1800.
Thank you for your question. Barrett Hickory is primarily a floating floor, so you do not have to use adhesive for the installation if you do not want to. However, Barrett Hickory can be glued-down for anyone who prefers that method. Please see the installation instructions, which are available on the floor's homedepot.com product page, for more guidance.
Thank you for your question. The Barrett Distressed Hickory has a 1.5 mm wood veneer.
Thank you for your question. Given enough time and exposure, floors usually do change as a result of sunlight. This is especially true in the case of natural floors, such as one made of wood. Depending on the type of wood, color, and other miscellaneous conditions, this could result in fading or darkening of the floor. You can contact our technical services department at 877-630-1800 if you have any questions.
I installed this exact flooring in my kitchen living room and dining room 5 years ago. The sunlight beams thru the kitchen every morning and it has not faded whatsoever. I have only put a floor luster on it once a year.
Thank you for your question. The best way to determine if the color of a product is what you're looking for is to order a carton of the floor. This allows you to assemble to product in the location you to intend to install your new floor, giving you a chance to see how it would look in your home and how it coordinates with its surroundings.
