Tomas: I suppose that would work. I don't think it was designed for that though. I have a new Trubo Scrub Carpet Cleaner and on the drying cycle it should work. But you have to understand that it's designed to put just enough cleaning solution on your carpet to do the job, (1 and 1/2 ounces of Hoover cleaning solution to a gallon of hot tap water in the clean water tank), then it scrubs and cleans your carpet and vacuums it to a surprising dampness that dries in minutes on a hot day, not hours. My new Turbo Scrub is a great! improvement over the older one I had. Something else I might suggest to recover a flooded carpet area is for you to buy a shop vac from your local Home Depot. That's what I did and used when I accidentally flooded our bathroom carpet. There's an overflow valve in the top of the assembly that prevents over filling the lower tank and it handles a much larger volume of liquid. It worked for me. I hope that helps, Hank

Sailor Lady: Mine doesn't. You add a gallon of hot tap water and a cap full of the detergent and it shampoos your carpet and vacuums it damp dry. I love mine. I hope that helps. Hank

Maybe, some stores carry this cleaner but you need to check your local store for availability. BUT you will not get the sale price if you don't order it online. I found that out the hard way. I drove 30 miles to get one. They had 6 in-store but I was told they do not honor online sale prices in the store. I drove back home , ordered it and had it delivered.

This carpet cleaner will puck up loose duet, hair, etc and this helps to plug it up. Its heavy as a vacuum and is not intended for that purpose. Always vacuum the carpet to be cleaned before you clean it so that any loose dirt or hair , can be picked up and not wrap around the scrub brushes or plug it up. A vacuum cleaner is for vscuumkng up dirt while a carpet cleaner is to clean the deep dirt the vacuum can't pull uo

that's a dumb question. No one can answer how long your carpets will remain wet without knowing they type of carpet you have and how many times you go over an area with the machine and the temperature in your enviornment that aids with drying.

I was supprised at how quiet the carpet cleaner is. My vacuum makes more noise that this carpet cleaner.

There are two seperate containers. The clean water/cleaning solution container is on top. The dirty water container is on the bottom.

Yes. On mine the brushes and suction stopped working after a few years of relatively light use. The turbo unit ( unseen and inside the unit) which uses air to turn the brushes, has bearings that can rust solid. It won’t suck up the water either when this happens. Forget about getting repair parts for this unit, the ones you’ll need are not available. You have to throw it away and buy another. Nice unit but very disappointing on the servicability/maintenance side.
