The Stainless Steel Liner Cap chimney cover by HY-C Company is constructed of 100% 304 stainless steel and built to withstand the toughest conditions. Ideal for oil, coal or heavy wood burners or for any application within 25 miles of a saltwater coast. High quality construction includes a 24-Gauge stainless steel hood with scalloped corners, 18-Gauge 3/4 in. expanded stainless steel mesh and 24-Gauge stainless steel bases for extra strength. Using the gear drawn clamp draw band, the Liner Cap chimney cover provides the securest possible fit to a rigid or flexible stainless steel liner. Could this be used on a 12 inch Transite Pipe ? Transite Pipe is the older pipe that was used back in 50 and 60s mostly.
it seems like it should work just fine, assuming it has similar strength to a clay flue tile.

My pipe 20 years old measures somewhere between 10.5 and 11 would this work? It goes to a metal fireplace, not masonry.
LC11 is designed for use with rigid and flexible stainless steel liners. It is adaptable for use with clay flue liners. It should not be used with metal air-cooled chimney systems.

The Draft King Chimney Cover incorporates a design that maximizes clamping force without damaging the flue verses the individual screw type cover thus will withstand stronger winds. Can I safely use this cap on my masonry chimney flue for my natural gas furnace and gas hot water heater?

the screen in my current chimney cap keeps getting plugged up. is there a chimney cap without a screen?
I have no idea. Can't imagine that it makes much of a difference. The screen is need to keep birds and squirrel "out" as well as large embers "in." Check the size of the mesh on your screen: this cap screen has large openings. The clogging might also be a problem with the heat that you are putting up the chimney and possible incomplete combustion. I use a fireplace insert that heats a good portion of my house. I initially had a problem with clogging when I had a fine mesh screen on my cap and did not allow my insert to burn "hot."
