Can these be used for inside to outside the electrical box?

Answer

You should not install this from the inside of the box. One of the purposes of this connector is to prohibit the cable from being pulled out of the box. Its "lobster trap" design is such that it only provides that feature when installed as intended. If you need a connector you can install from the inside, use a two-piece connector. Home Depot carries these as well.

I installed a Delta humidity sensing bathroom exhaust fan. There was a hole for the conduit to go through but no conduit connector included with the fan housing. I was up in the attic and went ahead and installed without the connector. Had to order this to pick up at the store for a 5 count...didn't need 25 of them. Once they came in less than a week, I was able to slide this around the 12/2 w/ground NM cable and snapped it into the opening without having to disconnect my wiring. Turned the circuit breaker off before doing this. It was simple to do.
