    Answer This Question

A:  Can someone answer this question and the many that are posed? Do these style connectors work with Romex? They appear to be made for metal clad BX style cable yet all information points to use with Romex. Very poor descriptions provided

Clamp-Combination Connectors (1/2” ko) APPLICATION: indoors dry location ...
Clamp-Combination Connectors (1/2” ko) APPLICATION: indoors dry location MATERIAL: MISC: SUITABLE FOR: 14-2, 14-3, 12-2 and 12-3 MC with covered ground wire (Metal clad flexible conduit), AC (aluminum clad, MC-Lite) as well as NM (non-metalic Romex) for connecting to metal boxes only . They are not for BX. (Set screw type is for BX) CERTIFICATIONS: UL (Underwriters Lab) and CSA (Canada) fully code compliant . I love that these are low profile and can be tightened with a #2 driver , Philips or straight screwdriver. I am a fully lic. Electrical contractor and any inspector that says these are not for mc is not up on their code or has mistaken these for romex connectors which look nearly identical except for the wire shielding stop built into the end that prevents mc or armor lite cable from slipping past the connector. I don't like these for romex plastic wiring (NM-B) as the stop for the metal sheath of MC and AC is sometime a tight fit to pull past the stop. They are rated for them but are much slower to install than plain ol' RX/ NM-B connectors and more expensive as well. Great Versatile Product....
