You can use LED bulbs that have a standard (E26) base. I have used BR20 and BR30 LED bulbs in mine.

are they able to be put on a dimmer switch
Asked by: mjp
Yes, I did that. If you are using LED bulbs be sure to use a dimmer that is approved for LED bulbs.

With the right bulb and a dimmer switch, can this light be dimmable?

I've seen other lights list "dimmable" in the specs but not this one. Just wondering if that's really a feature of the light itself or it's more a function of the bulb and switch.
Asked by: Tim
Yes, they work just fine!

Is there any reason I couldnt used these in our ceiling? They will be replacing ballast lighting and there is ample attic space. I note there is a difference between "remodel" and 'new installation".
Asked by: Sam
I replaced 4 different fluorescent ballast light sets in my home with these. My install was probably a bit harder because I had to remove the existing lights from a recessed pocket, drywall over the area, and then install these. Word of advice - buy the 6" hole saw kit for your drill, it turns a long, tedious, and messy process into a much easier job.
