How do I replace the bulbs?

Asked by Jordan January 23, 2021

Answers

Hello Jordan, slowly twist the bulb while gently pulling on it. I don't remember if it's twist to the right or left. once everything is lined up, the bulb will come out. Then look and the bulb base and at the receptacle to see how the replacement goes back in.

Can this track be configured in a straight line? I want to use it along my ridge beam.

Asked by John January 20, 2021

Answer

Absolutely. You will need to roll out flat. However, do not know exactly what your ridge beam looks like or long it is, you may be better served using linear track instead of flexible track. Will be perfectly straight...

Light went bad.

Answers

First, to Home Depot and Hampton Bay, the answer should be a resounding YES. Second, I searched through the Home Depot app and I did not find an option for the track I bought. You can buy light units for linear track that look the same, but not for the curved track. There are light units that look different for curved track. But nothing that matches my set.

how do I get more of the light for these track?

Asked by jay July 31, 2020

Answers

You can not get more lights. I installed mine and one of the lights broke . They could only replace the whole set not just one light.

How low do the lights hang from the ceiling?

Asked by Steve April 19, 2020

Answers

Track is about an inch down and lights are about another 4.

Can u connect to a drop ceiling?

Asked by Ram April 13, 2020

Answers

If you already have a junction box to attach the power feed to, then so so. Then use toggle bolts to attach the stanchions to the drop ceiling and install the track. If you do not already have a junction box in place, please contact a qualified, licensed electrician to ensure the installation of the junction box is up to code.

The lights stopped working. The bulbs are new. How can it be fixed?

Answers

First, I am not an electrician (and therefore some may say I shouldn't try to answer this question). Second, if you are not comfortable working with electricity, get someone else to troubleshoot your lights. If all the bulbs are not working then it sounds like the electricity is not making it to the bulbs. Check the following: Is the circuit breaker for the lights tripped? If not, when the light switch is turned on, is the voltage making it to the junction box on the ceiling? Use a volt meter to check. Are the wires from the light switch securely fastened to the wires for the light base (usually wire nuts). Is the track properly seated in the base so that there is good contact between the base and the conductors in the track.

Unfortunately the attachments are all plastic, so we got it in March and it already broke. Just fell off the ceiling one night while we were sleeping. Two of the plastic attachments broke at the threading/plastic screw. We didn't realize when ordering, just HOW flexible it is, which made putting it up rather tricky. It comes in the box as a curled up rope. We also had to make sure we tightened a spot close to the base with closer spacing or the connection wasn't good enough for the light to turn on. Looks cool, but wish it was sturdier, especially for the price.

Took two of us between 90-120 minutes to put up, which included planning/shaping the track, rewiring (needed more exposed wire to ground, so had to strip a little of the wire casing), installing the supports in the ceiling, setting the track and connecting the lights to the track. Track is a bit too heavy to position properly with just one person in my opinion, but it’s pretty malleable. The lights didn’t all snap on easily but once we managed to snap them in place they were secure. We purchased different LED bulbs instead of the ones that came with the kit (other reviewers said the default bulbs are a noticeable power drain), and connected this unit to a dimmer switch. Once it was installed, total game changer for a formerly poorly lit galley kitchen! Love it! Lights are easy to aim and reposition to get the ideal setup.

I bought this set to install a new light on my kitchen. It worked perfectly fine, but about 11 months after installing it lost power. I checked around and saw that the base that provides power to the track has cracked (It is made out of plastic that is very weak). I verified it was still under warranty so I called Home Depot for a replacement part; since no parts were available, they refunded my purchase (no complains on my local HD, they are great). I decided to give it a try again, and here we are 11 months later again with the same problem. Decided to even check eBay for replacement parts, not worth your money. The product looks nice, but would suggest make the fixtures stronger.

Great Value
Really modernized the look in our kitchen for very little money - easy installation. We replaced the included bulbs with LEDs, which are much brighter and have a more pleasant light tone.

Purchased this light because we had an unusual situation of only being able to provide power from the wall so we needed a track light that would bend from the wall to the ceiling. The track is rigid and it took a bit to make the bend but it worked great. The only issue we had is the lights had to be squeezed with a pair of pliers to get them to fit into the track and get closed. Once we figured that out it went smoothly. Have only had the lights up a couple of days but so far so good.

At first I was super excited about this product because it gave my kitchen the lighting it needed. Have had the product now for one year exactly and one by one the anchors are breaking causing the track to hang down into my kitchen. Called to get replacement anchors because I loved the product so much and the "representative" I was assigned to never calls me back. I still haven't received my "free" replacement anchors either.

To make a long story short, this quality of this fixture is extremely poor. In order to attach the lights to the track, you must remove the plastic cap on the top of each light so you can clamp it onto the track. Then, you have to screw the cap back on in order to secure it. The problem is, the entire part where the cap screws on is CHEAP PLASTIC! On three of the lights, the threads on the top snapped completely off while removing the cap. I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. So, I called the number for customer care on the instructions. I told the rep what had happened and she told me she would contact the parts dept. A few days went by and she called me back to inform me the parts were on back order. Then she called me back a few days later and told me that the parts dept recommended returning the light to home depot and order a new one; however, being that I had already installed the track in my ceiling, I preferred to wait for the parts. Then a week went by and she requested pictures of the broken lights as proof they were broken and I needed new ones so she could submit these to the parts dept. Why not ask for the pictures in the first place? Then, another week went by and she told me that they CANNOT ship out individual parts, and I must contact the online service dept and order a new light, remove the parts that I needed from the box, put the broken ones back in the box, and return it to home depot for a refund on the second light I had to order. This whole process took over three weeks because the rep did not tell me in the first place that they could not ship out individual parts. What's the point of a parts department if they don't ship out parts ?! Bottom line: It was only $120....you get what you pay for and make sure all of the parts are sturdy and in tact before you begin installation.

Been a few weeks and still working at getting light replacements. 4 of the 5 were broken at the connecting clamp assembly (I see other complaints for the same things). They crumbled into pieces. Mfg denied my request first time around, wanting the entire thing replaced. The electrician has installed what is installed and it's certainly not coming down now. They can have the 4 broken light assembly's back, just send replacements that are not defective. I really like the unit and looking forward to the completed project; but having busted lights isn't any better than the old lights it replaced. Because I'm working with broken parts right now, I can't give it but a 1 rating. Once the replacement parts arrive (now several weeks) I'll re-evaluate my rating.

I'm a Realtor in Jupiter, FL and I remodel condos and townhomes on the beach. I used these in my last remodel and added 2 pendants and another piece of track. Everyone that looked at my last condo loved these lights. I'm remodeling another condo and will order them again.
