Good sound, features; tricky pairing
I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and volume of this speaker. I got a pair on a whim while picking up landscape lighting, and they work as advertised. You can get up to 8 (?) and link 7 "satellites" to a "main" speaker. That linking was tricky and the instructions are not super clear. I think what ended up working for me was to put the main one into pairing mode with the satellite shut off, and then turn on the satellite and it paired quickly. I might be wrong about that. I tried about 327 other things first, so keep at it, and it will eventually pair.
I cannot comment on durability, etc., because I just set these up today.

Good garden speakers
At $54 each, they make some pretty good addition to my backyard. So far, I’ve got two installed (one main, and a satellite), and they do put out pretty decent volume via Bluetooth interface. I’m going all the way with eight speakers. I don’t known what the impacts will be with that many, but I’m relying on the specs. There are two drawbacks that bug me. One, it does not have Bluetooth wake-up capability. So, there’s an annoying process of walking over to the main, turn it on, then play my content from a device. I do not understand how Hampton Bay let this slip. The second drawback is managing lights and speakers during daylight hours from the same low voltage (LV) box. I believe that I may be able to solve this problem by installing a switch between the LV box and main speaker. I’m hoping to see upgrades pretty soon that enable backwards compatibility. Other than those two drawbacks, I like them and do recommend them to add some relatively inexpensive sound to your space. Enjoy!

Oh how we wanted these to work! They didn't.
I knew this was a gamble based on other reviews, but I thought maybe we would be one of the lucky ones that got some that worked! We were not. We bought 3 - We installed and got them working for about a week before they started to refuse to connect to Bluetooth. We changed which one was the "main" speaker and that one started to do it as well. We wanted them to work because they were really great when they were but you cant pull them up every time they start acting up so we returned them. As others have said, this is an EXCELLENT idea and solves a problem, but the reality is the product isn't quality and just beyond frustrating when you start getting the connectivity issue.

Have had this one for a year now, outside in the sun and rain near pool, and still works well. Connects from a good 50 feet away to iPhone 7+ if I leave it in my house. Getting another one.

What a novel idea. The Hampton Bay 16.9 in. Black Outdoor Landscape Speaker sounds great. I didn’t notice a manual but a good amount of information is on the box. Low Voltage (LV) connections are rather straight forward. Connecting Bluetooth devices has become rather common as well and frankly, could not be simpler. For my setup I connected a section of unused outdoor LV wire to a Hampton Bay transformer/timer. I snapped the connector at the end of the speaker’s lead onto the LV wire. Pressing the center button on the bottom of the speaker opens the speaker to pairing. I then opened settings on my iPod to complete the pairing and opened up a music app. It’s that simple. The speaker has a rich tone. Volume is controlled by the source device and the speaker has quite a range. Once connected, the speaker built up a charge rather quickly. A sufficiently charged backup battery would permit the speaker to pair and deliver sound when the lights were not lit, like during daylight hours. Interesting.
I was impressed with how well the connection worked. I was able to maintain a wireless connection approximately 100’ away from the speaker. The information on the box reads that you can piggy-back a number of speakers off the original pairing. Such an arrangement would simplify management and provide a rather impressive array of sound.

This speaker is an unobtrusive enhancement to my patio environment.
Pairing to my Android phone worked quickly and flawlessly. Minimum dropout range exceeds Bluetooth standards. Unobstructed, I was able to get 40 feet away from the speaker before the sound began to drop out. With my body between the speaker and my phone, it started to drop out at 34 feet.
Audio quality is good. The bass could be a little better, but it’s good for such a small speaker at this price. As I turned up the volume on my phone, I didn’t detect any distortion until I hit the top step, which over drove the speaker slightly.
Connecting to the low voltage lighting is done with a beefy connector that is easy to use.
I only had one speaker to work with so I couldn’t try the multi speaker feature, but the setup instructions are simple enough.
I haven’t had the chance to run the speaker more than four hours, although it’s rated at six hours.

WOW I LOVE HAMPTON BAYS LANDSCAPE SPEAKER. Loving technology more and more each and every day.
Hampton Bay has made it possible to enjoy two of my favorite things together, music and gardening.
Super simple set up with incredibly sound quality which can be heard all around my half acre lot. My review is based on only one landscape speaker which requires a transformer which I have for all of my landscaping lights. Connect the Landscape Speaker which uses 8 watts of power to your cable that is connected to the transformer, then follow super easy instructions.
Choose which toggle switch you need M for Main speaker or S for satellite, then press the power button, you will hear a tone and the blue indicator light flashes. I chose my iPod to connect through its Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth will search for the LV Speaker and BAM your connected. A pair button is available however my device connected without having to press pair. Use your device to control volume and go to your song list. My song list consisted of 147 songs, never missing a beat. Device distance to speaker can be used up to 30 feet. I left the device sitting on the table next to speaker.
No more headphones slipping in out of my ears or loosing music when stooped over with my iPod in my pocket, I have also accidentally cut my earphone cable with clippers. All in the past!
Hampton Bay I have been using your products forever and am very pleased with you staying up to date with modern technology, perhaps ahead because I have never seen such a thing as this until now.
Oh one more thing, I was concerned the Bluetooth Speaker would only work according to my settings on the transformer dusk to dawn. Not the case, you can enjoy your music any time or day you choose

This is a COOL outdoor Bluetooth speaker! It has very good sound quality, and- at least from my 'smart' phone- could receive the signal and be heard clearly from a little over 30 feet.
It came somewhat disassembled: Speaker, Center shaft, Post with foot peg, wires are assembled through the shaft.
My only complaint is that the shaft would NOT screw all the way into the speaker assembly, no matter how hard I turned it.
It needs to be plugged in to a low wattage system, and has an onboard battery thay should last 5~6 hours, so it has some portability- which is what I really wanted it for!
