Can the inside cabinet and shelves be stained?

The door, drawer face, face frame are all paintable, while the inside and outside of the carcass box and shelve are unpaintable due to they are already laminated. I am impressed! The cabinet is excellent quality, but the most impressive thing about it is how easy
it was to put together! It took me less than 5 minutes and I didnt need any tools at all. I pulled out the instructions, but honestly it was self explanatory and everything just clicks together. The cabinet is quite sturdy and the doors were aligned perfectly and didn't require adjustment. The shelf clips are really nice as well and hold the shelves in place. The only thing I don't like about it is that the sides are white and the front is bare wood, ready for stain or paint. So I'm confused as to why the sides are white veneer, which cannot be easily painted or stained without considerable prep. So it seems the easiest thing to do is paint the front white as well, which for me is fine.
