        Wall mounted fan is quiet
Wall mounted this fan and it is quiet. Installing was pretty easy. This was a new install so venting to exterior wall of home added time but not very difficult for this novice.

        Can barely hear it running!
Our old fan sounded like a lawn mower running..so loud I could not tolerate it being on for more than a minute or two. Drove me crazy! My husband is very hard of hearing so it never bothered him to leave the fan running. I (and overnight guests) could even hear it on the floor above and below it was so loud. Tried all of the tips to clean it etc without success...actually made it worse. I was shopping HD yesterday and on a whim picked up this Hampton Bay fan (I had returned two others already due to issues with the install space...one too tall and one was for new construction). We needed a shorter/more shallow fan because a PVC plumbing vent pipe runs across the top making install in the existing opening tricky. So pleased! This Hampton Bay fan is AMAZINGLY quiet. Can barely hear it running! Did have to slightly enlarge my old opening (even though it matched the dimensions of the old fan) in order to maneuver it up and under the vent pipe. Loved the quick connect electrical. Took me a couple of hours just due to the parameters I had to work with but extremely satisfied with the end result (and the inexpensive price to maintain my sanity)! I had to install trim because pulling out the old fan damaged the ceiling (added to my install time) but cool with that :-)

This energy star exhaust fan has a lot of decent features. 140 CFM, wet rated, humidity sensing option (which is easy to just turn off at the switch,) ease of installation with really no special tools required and a quiet motor. The installation/instruction booklet is easy to read with clear diagrams and inventory list. No crumbly styrofoam, just a few plastic bags and cardboard egg crate material for packaging. The cover grate is plastic with a clean and simple appearance that can go with any decor stye. We plan to replace an older fan in the family bathroom that's just not strong and effective enough at 80 CFM. Looking forward to a quieter exhaust fan too.

The 140 CFM Ceiling Humidity Sensing Bathroom Exhaust Fan, ENERGY STAR by Hampton Bay is just the problem solver I needed. I requested this product for a guest house that seems to have a constant problem with humidity in the master bathroom. I do not know if the problem is the people who use it or what. I have installed it in an effort to achieve less humidity effortlessly. I have to say it has not been in long enough for me to give an “in use” evaluation. I do know that Hampton Bay makes great products and I feel this one will be as expected.

This exhaust fan is awesome. Very high quality. It senses the humidity in your bathroom and runs until it gets below 60%. The excavator outlet is a solidly piped 6” stub with a built in damper. Most bathroom fans are vented only into a 4” vent. You can purchase an adapter to fit from 6” to 4” at HD. The cover is a very nice white plastic cover. I am using this in my bathroom renovation so installation and ducting will be a non issue. I highly recommend this awesome bathroom fan.

I am remodeling my Master Bathroom and needed a new Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan. So, when I came across the Hampton Bay 140 CFM Ceiling Humidity Sensing Bathroom Exhaust Fan, ENERGY STAR in White I decided to give it a try. The Exhaust Fan arrived in a couple of days in a very well illustrated box. On the box it says the Fan is Ultra Quiet which is nice since the Fan I am replacing was very noisy. The box also shows that the Fan has a Full Speed Mode or a Dual Mode Humidity sensor. The Fan can determine when and how long it should stay on. Once there is less than 60% Humidity in the room the Fan will turn off. You can toggle the wall switch to run in normal mode at full speed of 140 CFM. How Cool is that? I opened the box looking for the Instruction/ Assembly Manual, it was right on top. After looking through the Manual I decided it would be best if I had my Son come over and do the Installation. It is like second nature to him, me not so much. I do like it when there is a Tools needed list with pictures. I can have everything my son needs to do the installation before he gets here. And just like that my son comes over, picks up the Manual and gets to work. Flipping through the Manual he makes the comment that the Instructions are very easy to follow and very thorough. The installation went very smooth and in about 30 minutes my new Hampton Bay Ceiling Exhaust Fan was installed and up running and very quiet, yippee! I looked at the Instructions the see how to change from Full Speed to Humidity Sensing. It is very easy, move the On/Off Wall switch to On position and it is in full speed Mode with a Red LED indicator Light. Then to put the Fan in Humidity Sensing Mode you cycle the switch back to the Off position and then back to the On position. The Green LED light indicator comes on. To turn the Fan off you move the switch to the Off position. I just Love the way the Fan looks installed in my Bathroom and will recommend Hampton Bay to my Family and Friends. I am completely Satisfied.

I ordered the Hampton Bay Humidity Sensing Bathroom Exhaust Fan for my quest bathroom because there is only a small window inside the bathtub enclosure. I found that the original fan that was sized for this bathroom did not remove the humid air fast enough. With the larger 6 "exhaust vent and the more powerful 140 CFM fan motor it should clear out the humid air with no problem. I like that it has an automatic humidity sensing setting that will stay on until the humidity in the room is reduced to 60%. It can be installed in new construction or existing construction as long as you can get access to the attic. If your exhaust vent is 6" you can resize it to that but if you reduce the duct size to 4" the fan will be louder.

Needed a replacement exhaust fan for basement bathroom and this Hampton bay exhaust fan definitely does the job. This is a strong fan that actually does the job of keeping the humidity down in the bathroom. It does a much better job that our old one. It is larger than the one I took out so it was a little work getting it installed but the directions are very helpful and the results are well worth the effort.

Hampton Bay products are what I consider TOP of the line. Their products always add value to your home, and this new Energy Star humidity sensing bathroom ceiling fan is no exception.  The fan is extremely well designed and you can even leave home, and leave it running.  When the sensors have determined that less than 60% humidity is remaining, it will shut itself off.  You can also control the off/on  functions by using the wall switch. Running the fan at full speed generates 140 CFM. All of the Hampton Bay products are well crafted, with attention to detail. This new product is very unique in that it has it's own built in sensors. Proud to be able to recommend this to all interested Home Depot shoppers.
