If the fan is in an attic can I lay the fiberglass insulation on top of the metal housing to prevent it from dripping into my bathroom?
Not recommend to do so.
Installed this unit about a year ago and have notice a rattling noise recently. Unit is firmly installed and no pieces are loose when I take the cover off to look. What could be making this noise?

This would replace an existing fan. Will the housing fit in the 9“ x 9“ hole? Also, just to confirm, does this need to be connected to ductwork? There is no existing ductwork. Thank you.

No, but it’s much quieter than other manufacturers’ fans that are 80 CFM. This is the fan I use if my customers want a quiet fan.

If I want to replace my existing 50CFM fan with a 80 CFM fan, is it necessary to replace the housing as well or can I just remove the 50CFM motor and insert the 80CFM motor into the same existing housing? These are both Hampton Bay vent fans.
These fans are integrated units. Unlike many more expensive fans, it's not possible to swap out the motor separately. Looks to me like you'd need to swap out the whole thing.
Can I connect this fan to the existing lights?
