Barrow Island 52 in. Indoor/Outdoor Wet Rated Natural Iron Ceiling fan

There's not enough room for the clevis pin to pass through the downroad because of the wires coming right out of the center of the ring on the motor. I forced it through and it tore the insulation on the wires. I had to take it back apart to verify this. The pin still can't go through without force when I tried it again. I just know if I do it again it's going to cause exposed wire to be touching the clevis pin.

It's great. The reversible blades are quick connect and easy to rotate. Best fan for price and value.

I wanted to provide airflow in the sultry days of August in an attached backyard open porch and this fan fit the bill. Most of the fans that are wet rated are more expensive but after reading multiple favorable reviews, I couldnt beat this Hampton fan’s price point and purchased it at my local Home Depot in stock. I took my time with DIY installation and used Home Depot’s step by step 8 minute video to walk me through it. I spent awhile first removing a previous light with its blue plastic junction box (YouTube video showed how to bang out the plastic blue box) and hanging the metal junction box for remodels, also sold by HD. Take your time with this because if its not secure, the subsequent installation will be a problem. One note: make sure when you install the metal box so its bottom is close to flush with the ceiling or even 1/4” lower, otherwise the two screws which will support the entire fan will not reach the fan hanging assembly. Otherwise, the step by step video is perfect and allows you to pause and go back if you miss something. My light was perfectly packed with all the required parts. I panicked once when I couldn’t find a white trim piece but it was hiding in plain sight against the white packing styrofoam. I liked that the reversible fan blades had one side which looked like the overhead bead board used in most outdoor porch ceilings. For my 9’ ceiling I did add an extra chain length that I had in my junk drawer for the fan speed pull cord so my 5’ 3” spouse could reach it. From start to finish including hanging a new metal junction box the project took about 3 hours, but I took my time on a brutally hot day. This is a one person job with an A-frame ladder, a philips screwdriver, a wire stripper/cutter, and whatever you need to instal a metal juntion box capable of supporting 35 pounds.

This fan runs circles around the last one that we had. Installation was a breeze. We purchased two so I am a really big fan of this product and not just pulling your chain.

Installed easy with push and slide blades. Installed on an outdoor gazebo. Pushes a good amount of air and is quiet with no wobbles. Looks great. Many compliments so far.
