Hello - The 24" depth is the overall depth of the cabinet itself. The recessed toe kick is 3-5/16" deep and 4-1/2" tall. Thank you for reaching out to Hampton Bay, and please have a great day.
Smooth for the most part. When sliding hand across, a slight texture can be felt, a texture with the grain. Gonna replace more cabinet's soon. I like these.
I like my cabinets very much, but the draw slides need to be heavier or stronger. I put my silverware in the draw and the slides did not work well. We went back and was given a new slide. This did not answer the problem. Now it is worse than before. I even took some of the silverware out. So I Guess the final answer would be, to be careful as to what you plan to put in the draw. Shc
Sounds like a technical error. Just call online customer care.
It measures right at 20.5 inches. Items need to be no taller than 20.25 in to be sure you can fit them in without a big struggle. That leaves only about 1/4 inch wiggle room though for lifting in and out - (not just "sliding" out) There is a little "lip" to the facing at the bottom. Also, no wider than 24 inches. Racks or stacking shelves work well to fill the back. The cabinet and drawer can house a lot of useful kitchen items. It has also held up very well for me.
