Hi Gloria - This specific model does not have an adjustable brightness or dimming feature. They are designed to operate at a fixed output of 14 lumens once they automatically turn on at dusk. We have other models with a Hi/Lo adjustment switch, but those are toggling between 20 and 40 lumens (still brighter than what you have currently). We do have a different path light with a 10 lumen output. Please check to see if it meets your required design aesthetic. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-Bellingrath-10-Lumen-Bronze-LED-Weather-Resistant-Outdoor-Solar-Path-Light-with-Plastic-Lens-P3100-01-12/319876423
Hi Taylor - The flickering you experience when tapping the unit is a classic sign of a loose power connection. Open up the battery compartment and check the rechargeable battery. Sometimes, a minor shift during installation can prevent consistent contact with the terminals. Ensure the battery is firmly seated, and consider gently pressing the metal contact tabs inward to secure a tighter fit if it is loose. Even though these are relatively new, minor moisture or debris can occasionally find its way onto the contact plates. Clean the battery terminals with a dry cloth to ensure a completely clear electrical path. If the unit only triggers when you approach, your shadow might be blocking ambient light that is keeping the sensor confused. To recalibrate the internal controller, turn the power switch to the "OFF" position. Allow the light to sit in direct sunlight for 24 to 48 hours so the battery can establish a stable, maximum charge. Switch it back "ON" at dusk to see if it sustains a solid beam.
Hi Discoloredpanels - Start by wiping away loose dirt with a damp, soft microfiber cloth. For stubborn grime, use a small amount of mild dish soap mixed with warm water. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals like bleach, as these can scratch the surface and permanently reduce sunlight absorption. If the cloudiness remains after washing, you can gently scrub the panel with non-whitening toothpaste or a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. These mild abrasives are excellent for lifting the oxidation layer that causes the tan or white cast. Once the panel is completely clean and dry, applying a thin layer of clear gloss protective spray paint or a UV-resistant clear coat will physically "fill in" the cloudy micro-scratches to restore shine and block future yellowing.

Hi Diameter - The diameter of the top is 5.7 inches. For a visual or any other dimensions or specs, click on the images on the website.
Hi Bill - You should have a 1.2V Ni-Mh AA 1000mAh battery in there. Replacing it with a 1,2V Ni-Mh AA battery with 1900+ mAh should be fine. It may just take a little longer to fully charge, but that is normal. It's not harmful, you may just not always get the full capacity benefit.
