Q:The box says 20 watts, the descriptions says 1.3 watts and the guy on the phone at Hampton Bay is telling me 4.5 watts per lights. Does anyone know how many watts each light actually draws?

Answer This Question

A:  Is the product shown the exact one that YOU bought? Since your box says "20 watts" and if Hampton Bay is indicating 4.5 watts, you must have 4.444 bulbs (or 4 because of rounding error). On the other hand, 1.3 watts/light would yield 5.2 watts for 4.

          Stunning lights
I purchased six of the color changing lights along with the 200 W transformer. At first I was not thrilled with the fact I had to download The controls to my phone, but I was shocked how easy it was even for me. It took me longer to string the low-voltage cord than it did to hook the lights up. Love the fact that each light is individually controlled by my phone and you can control different colors of each light. Great product and great technical advice. Enjoy.

Really nice but not that durable
I bought these lights to replace the plastic ones I had. The plastic ones were prone to breaking very easily so I thought metal ones would do the trick. So far, I've had two break and they don't seem to be able to take much of a hit before the area around the adjustment screw sheers off. When that happens you have no choice but to replace the whole unit. It wouldn't be bad if they weren't so expensive. If you plan to put these lights anywhere there's a possibility of foot traffic, think again. I'm stuck now because I put in a whole landscape lighting system so I have to keep buying extras in case another one breaks. Other than that, they're nice bright lights.

Loving these new lights, we were able to easily brighten up the darker side of our house without the hassle of installing recessed lighting in our soffits. You just need to provide your own 12V power source and wiring. 14/2 outdoor wiring is perfect for this set. It took me all of 10 minutes to run the wire and connect these lights at various intervals along the way. They appear made well, very sturdy once in the ground, and give off a nice soft white color at the middle 3000k setting.

This set of 4 Hampton Bay LED low-voltage floodlights works perfectly. They are attached to my own low voltage cable and transformer. At first glance, I thought they were adjustable in the color of the lights, but they only adjustable for the color temperature. The light is white, but the intensity can be changed from a warm 2700K, a soft 3000K, or a bright daylight 4000K. I set them up temporarily close together just to try to capture the color differences in a photo. You can see that the warmer 2700K has more yellow than the 4000K. They are made with cast aluminum with a black powder coating, so there is no worry of rust and the LEDs do not need changing. They have a life of about 50,000 hours. I like that the angle of the head can be adjusted 136 degrees without tools by twisting the knob. The color temperature is adjusted by rotating a knob on the back of the light body. The lamp body is about 6" x 3" and it screws onto the ground stake. The 6.5" ground stakes are aluminum with a foot step to help push it into the ground (Always predrill a pilot hole first unless you have very soft ground). Wire connection is easy but instructions are included if needed. I would have rated this product 5 stars if the connectors were stronger. One of the connectors was cracked in half on arrival and fell apart. It is an annoyance, but it is a simple repair to replace the connector. (until I find a replacement connector, I have taped it together with Flextape sold on Home Depot, which worked great as a temporary repair) These lights come with a 5-year warranty for defects in materials and workmanship.

We have been wanting to light up the outside of our house for years and finally got around to the project. We have a front area of the house with the house number and front walkway. We wanted to better illuminate these areas and make the house look prettier at night. We have been shying away from the halogen as using too much energy and the solar units as too weak. These new generation of led lights fit the bill. First they are adjustable in color, so using the middle (3000K) setting they matched our garage and front porch lights very well. Our house is starting to look better at night. A bonus is these light help our security cameras see more as the area is lit up. One of the attached photos shows three of the lights lighting the front wall of the house with one light set to each of the three different temperatures of light color. We ended up picking the middle setting (easy change as it's a dial on the back of the lamp). With the companion Hampton bay transformer, it all comes on automatically at dusk and off at dawn.

This set of floodlights provide a wider beam rather than a spotlight you'd use to light a flagpole. There's 3 light color temperature settings - I'm using the low setting of 2700k that provides a warmer glow. The other settings are 3000k and 4000k. I did have one of the connectors crack when squeezing the prongs together. I'll probably need to replace this eventually.
