How do I move the motor collar cover to access the reversing switch? It is fixed in place and I don't find a way to release it.
Thank you for your question. To access the reversing switch, you simply slide the motor collar cover up the downrod. There is no need to twist it, and there is no stopper preventing it from sliding. For further assistance please call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678).
To access the switch to change the direction of airflow, you advise to "lift up the motor collar cover". Specifically how does one lift it up? The cover is fixed in place and doesn't move. Does it need to be twisted? Is there a stop device on it?

Fast forward to the "Reverse switch" section at the 19:00 mark. To access the reverse switch, you simply slide the motor collar up the downrod. No twisting needed and there is no stopper.
I read in the manual how to reverse direction on the fan, but I need an explanation of exactly how to access the reversing switch. How much fan disassembly does it require to access it?

If airflow is desired in the opposite direction, turn your fan off and wait for the blades to stop turning, then slide the reversing switch (located underneath the motor collar cover on the switch box on top of the motor housing) to the opposite position, and turn the fan on again. No disassembly. Lift up the motor collar cover. The fan blades will turn in the opposite direction and reverse airflow.
Is there an add on Hampton Bay wall control switch that can be wired into the existing switch box that is compatible with this fan?
Thank you for your question. Due to the smart features and color temperature changing light kit, the only recommended control is the included remote control. In general, remote control fans can not be installed to work with the remote and a wall control. Using a wall control in conjunction with the remote receiver will damage the receiver.
Can this fan be mounted to a dimmer switch?
Thank you for your question. No, the fan can not be connected to a dimmer switch only a toggle on/off switch. The remote controls all of the fans functions.
