I am a first time fire pit user so can someone please suggest some links on what kind of wood or logs can I use here ? and how do I start the fire in the pit ? like what to use ?
Asked by: Singh
Best to start the fire with dryer lint or a paper towel or newpaper (all dry and easily combustable). Add small, dry twigs on top of the dryer lint/paper towel/newspaper. Once small twigs start to burn, add slightly larger and larger sized peices of wood. As you add wood, make sure there is space between pieces (the larger the pieces of wood, the more space). Don't add too much wood on at a time as this will smother the fire and put it out.

I just bought this product and I see mixed online review on the paint peeling off the outside

Has this issue been resolved and how does it effect the integrity of the product, is there is recall or warranty for this product?
Asked by: Soldierdoc
If you put it away when your done using it and don't have it out in rain it'll stay fine.

Do you have to use the log grate or can you build your fire on the bottom of the pit?

Asked by: Mimi
Yes, the grate needs to be used on the fire pit every time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusted within months We love the design, but we’re not sure how long it’ll last. We bought ours about 1 year ago, & it started rusting after the first couple of rains here in north TX. We moved it under our patio but still continued to rust over time more and more until a month ago when I finally asked the hubs to wire brush it & spray paint it with fire-grade black paint to try to save it and prevent from further rust. It really needs an enamel or better paint used for it to withstand the “elements” of TX. Which are almost non-existent. Next one will be stone that we create ourselves, I think. For now, we’ll use our black one and enjoy it while we can!

This Fire Pit looks awesome the minute I walked into Home Depot it caught my eye, the price was way below what I expected Wow, I thought it was going to be heavy to lift and it surprised me how light it was, and I loved how it contains the ashes , making it easy to dispose of, I had to go back for it 2 days later , I could,nt fit it in my car, so I went back in my pick-up and they had run out of these fire pits, so I asked this employee if I could take the one on display (already assembled) and he said yes, that was awesome of him.

However, enclosed sides meen less oxygen and slightly results in a more difficult burn. Burns good during windy times. It is a nice and deep pit that can hold a lot of wood. The only downfall is the thin bottom. Feels like 18 or 20 guage . I don't think it would last for multiple years. But at this price it's a reasonable trade off.

There are now 6 air holes rather than the original four, a wood stand that was not present in the first and a higher quality fire poker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Looks nice but not recommended.. poor air flow, and the removable log grate bent and collapsed after one fire.. I hope it lasts through the rain and doesnt rust out but seeing reviews on that aspect I’m sure it won’t.

That being said the legs on the grating warped beyond being used again after our first fire. The pit itself is still usable but now air cannot get under the wood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cant get air. doesnt burn The very small air holes in the bottom quickly get clogged with ash and the fire goes out. Ive drilled extra holes, but it barely helps. Buy one with open sides so the fire can burn
