Front push button light does NOT work.
Installed by licensed electrician this afternoon. Tested and everything worked including the light on the front door button. Noticed this evening that the doorbell works yet there is no light on the button. It is completely dark and not visible.

Both buttons turned yellow and cracked after 2 years
Bought this in the store to replace original doorbell installed with the house 50 years ago.
Within 2 years both doorbell switches turned yellow, cracked, and the lights also blew out. The chime is mechanical and gets stuck if you don't "tap" the doorbell button.
Don't waste your money on this. I'm surprised Home Depot even sells this low quality of a product.

Timing in life is everything! The day before I was having a new front door installed, this door chime arrived. The old doorbell was discolored, so I asked the carpenter to put this one in. It went in with no issues at all. It has a pleasant chime which is easily heard. Best of all, the chime box and doorbell assembly are a nice clean white unlike older boxes that were off white or beige. I watched the carpenter install it. It was super easy and only took minutes.

Our doorbell had not work for a while and we decided it was time to replace it. We look for a product with good quality and that would be somewhat easy to install. This contractor kit seemed to fit the bill.
The ring is not fancy it is a simple ding-dong type sound. So if you're looking for a fancy ring when the doorbell is pushed you may want to try a different unit. The volume is just above medium so be sure you put the unit in an area that is easily heard thru the house. If this is not possible you may need to get two bell units to place on each end of the house.
The doorbell is wired so that it gives you a different sound to let you know if it is the front door or backdoor doorbell button being pushed.
The doorbell push buttons are simple in design and somewhat cheaply made. I ordered a separate button made out of brass which I hope will be in soon. The buttons work fine and one of them lights up for the front door but the other does not. So if a plane white button is ok for you then these buttons will do just fine.
The installation is very straightforward and well explained in the included instructions.
If you're replacing an existing doorbell and transformer the the wiring will be very similar to what already exist and you should be able to simply transfer from one unit to the other as we did.
Installing a unit for the 1st time will require wiring that will connect the transformer and the doorbell with the push buttons at the front and back door. A little more to it but still very simple in its application and very well drawn out in the instructions.
