cheap garbage pot metal. don't trust
my 32 lbs picture frame mirror just came crashing to the floor after the 50 lbs hook snapped.

We take all comments very seriously and always want to improve. We do have a few question can you please tell us what the hardware was on the back of the mirror. Did the mirror have wire, D ring hangers or was it a Keyhole hanger?

I purchased 2 of these 100lb. rated hooks for a framed map. The map did not weigh 100lbs. Both hooks snapped and my map came crashing down. Damaged the frame pretty good. I called Hangz and all they did was point the finger at the people who framed the map. I was told the frame manufacturer has the wrong hardware on the frame even though this picture was hung previously with the same hardware and hung perfectly fine. No accountability was taken by Hangz. They took the coward way out and blamed someone else. No one with common sense would hear, we have 2 hooks rated for 100 lbs each, with a picture weighing less than 100 lbs. The hooks broke. Whose fault is it? Ridiculous! Home Depot refunded my money for the hooks because Home Depot has great customer service. Hangz on the other just pointed the finger and gave no help. Go with a different product to avoid the headache.

HangZ understands your frustration and takes great pride in its products and especially its customer service. Our customer service investigated the root cause and did speak with this customer asking all the right questions, unfortunately the product was NOT used correctly. The weight allocation had nothing to do with the hook breaking. The framed map had keyhole hangers mounted on the back. Keyhole hangers are designed to be used with screws and anchors. Picture hooks are designed for downward force in the elbows most commonly used with "D" rings or wire not forward motion on the tips of the hook. The customer inserted the hook tip into the keyhole hanger. No picture hook would support this application. HangZ did send a detailed explanation with images to why this did not work and offered a full refund plus offered to send the correct hardware for this application. HangZ customer service followed up a few days later to see if there was anything else we could do to help satisfy the customer. HangZ

Do not use in plaster
I have plaster and lathe. The box says good with plaster. I hammered it as directed and the hook itself put a 2” hole in my wall. I used a single screw instead and that worked better and was way cheaper.

We take all reviews very seriously. I'm sure sure how the HangZ hook caused this damage, sounds like you did the damage with a hammer. As you should know living with plasters walls they are very unstable in certain spots and we can not control that.
