Hansgrohe makes high-end faucets and this is no exception. After looking through the included instruction booklet, I began examining the faucet to familiarize myself with all the parts before beginning to plan the installation. There are several steps to be taken to prepare the faucet for installation as the spout must be attached to the stem according to where the faucet will be located relative to the sink. The instruction booklet gives very little information that would be of help to do-it-yourselfers and the print and diagrams are small and difficult to follow for anyone who does not have perfect vision. However, Hansgrohe has a YouTube channel that includes a very helpful installation video that I would highly recommend to anyone about to install this product. Every step is demonstrated with helpful hints during the process. By watching the video, you will find that a daunting-looking task is doable for anyone taking the time to watch and learn. The installation does involve working under a sink/counter/usually inside a cabinet, and that can mean lying down in a somewhat contorted position to get everything fastened properly to the countertop or sink. Although this is a great faucet, a serious problem was noted when I took the product out of the box. I found that the handle that controls water flow and water temperature would not move. It should move out and in (side to side) as you turn the water on and off, and up and down as you control the temperature--hot with the lever up and cold with the lever all the way down. I thought there might be something that immobilized the handle until installation but I was wrong. I contacted Hansgrohe Customer Service on their Toll-Free number for help and the representative there was able to diagnose the problem after having me several attempts of moving the handle in different directions to see if it would finally become free-moving. We determined that the cartridge was frozen and binding for some unknown reason. She said it was highly unusual for a brand new faucet to fail like this right out of the box and asked if I had it in use for some time. As it was indeed brand new, she immediately authorized a free replacement cartridge to be sent to me by Second Day Air. She also advised me of their YouTube video that detailed the removal and installation of the replacement cartridge. The defective cartridge removal and replacement was easily completed after watching the video online. It was surprising and disappointing to see such a fine product being sent out from the factory in this condition. I don’t know how someone assembling this faucet would not have noticed the problem with the cartridge unless it failed somehow after assembly. The defective cartridge, once removed was easily proven to be defective. The valve would not rotate at all and it would not move in the other axis that controls water flow volume. I did not notice any visual difference between the defective and replacement cartridge that would explain what failed with in the unit. All that said the faucet is beautiful, substantial and heavy. It does require some assembly and is not the typical single-hole faucet that is usually found in many kitchens. It also features built-in adjustments to control the limits/stops of the rotation of the spout so that you will be able to be certain the spout would not be able to rotate beyond the confines of the sink and allow water to flow on the counter or floor. The adjustments take into consideration whether you will be installing the faucet in the center of the rear line of the sink or in the right or left rear corner of the sink. Each application requires a different setting of the stops to keep spout rotation where you want it to be. There’s also a method for freeing and removing the spout should you need to replace O-rings or reorient the faucet for a different location. The spout locks in place once you push it home on the base of the unit. There’s a small hole on the rear of the spout and this is to be aligned directly where there is a plastic release button on the fastener mechanism. A small Phillips head screwdriver or another pointed tool gets inserted through this hole to press on the release mechanism so that the spout can be removed from the base. The pull-out spray head of the faucet works well and docks back solidly with its magnetic base and the slot that returns the spray head to its proper vertical alignment. Another nice touch is the pause feature that allows the user to pause the flow of water simply by pressing a button at the top of the spray head. This model also has a 2-spray selector control on the spray head where one can choose a (needle) spray or (laminar) solid stream of water. I have the steel optic finish faucet and its appearance is something I favor more over the polished chrome look that you find in most faucets. Despite the cartridge problem that was evident right out of the box, I do recommend this to anyone wanting a beautiful, high-end faucet in their kitchen. And definitely watch the You Tube video from Hansgrohe online. It deals specifically with this model faucet and it will simplify the process for you.

This faucet sits high off of the sink edge at 13" from the bottom of the faucet head to the top of the sink. Even better, it is about 21" from the bottom of the faucet head to the top of the sink basin. I put my largest, 10" high stock pot in the sink basin & I still had 11" clearance between the top of the pot & the bottom of the faucet head. The swivel spout rotates up to 150 degrees, from one side to the other, reaching every corner of the sink. The magnetic pull out faucet head provided even greater reach, so I could fill a large pot that sat on the kitchen counter. The on/off, hot/ cold water supply handle moves fluidly making it easy to find the exact temperature of water, i need. Also, I found the pause button, on top of the faucet head, extremely helpful. Once I selected the right temperature of water I wanted to use, I simply pressed the pause button & the water stopped flowing till I pressed the button again. This gave me time to collect other dishes I wanted to wash, with the same water temperature. The spray button is conveniently located on the faucet head. The spray is not broad, but effective. It was simple and easy to replace my old faucet. The comprehensive installation / user instructions were clear & concise. Few words & large intuitive graphics. Under the sink, on this unit, Instead of a large nut that would be very difficult to secure the faucet body, they use a bracket that screws up onto the main threaded shaft & then once finger tight, two common head screws are tightened with a screw driver. A MUCH better method. As anyone knows that has replaced a sink faucet, tightening a big nut in that hard to reach spot is a big pain. This is a highest quality kitchen sink faucet. The quality is easy to see in every part of the construction. The hot, cold & sprayer lines are all braided Stainless Steel. The parts included Silicon grease, & adapters, filters for the supply line valves. The form & finish are beautiful.

The stainless faucet is 18” high and has a pull down sprayer. The hole size in the mounting surface should be 1-1/2”. The maximum depth of the mounting surface is 2-3/4”. The select button on the hand sprayer will temporarily pause the flow of water from the faucet which can come in handy when spraying veggies and shifting them to another container. You get the sealing rings and washers required for installation. The instructions are very detailed with numerous illustrations.

The faucet is easy to install and the instructions are easy to understand. It is extremely well made. Heavy metals with a very nice finish. The start stop function is really a nice feature and it is high enough to do large pots under it without hitting it. It moves very well and you can even adjust the temperature you want the hot water to max out at. Cons, if you do not have a deep sink it is going to splash a lot. The pressure is great but this is the same thing that causes it to splash. the handle for the sprayer is a little odd. It is great to fill pots off to the side of the sink and the reach is great but for washing out the sink it is an odd angle to be able to spray the sink out. You have to pull out the handle and hold the hose if you want to spray out the sink so you can angle the handle in a way that is useful. I would recommend getting the SBox this manufacture makes. If the handle was smoother (it hits the pipes under my sink because it is not very big) when I pull it in and out it may make spraying off the sink a little easier. with the SBox, the hose is enclosed in a box keeping it free from hitting all the items under the sink. This would make spraying out the sink much easier because I would not be fighting the heavy ball tangled all over the pipes to move it around the sink. The box comes with everything needed to instal to include the seal grease. It even included a small plastic wrench to take off the filter at the end of the sprayer. If you are looking for a faucet to fill big pots off the side of the sink this is the one. The stop start function is amazing and for filling pots the angle of the sprayed is perfect.

One of the most attractive faucets I have ever seen! Super heavy and solid....wow...I am very impressed. Can't wait to install it and replace a run of the mill normal faucet The steel optic is a great color... I do admit I would prefer bronze, or black....but at least it is better than chrome.... unfortunately these expensive faucets don't come with the base plate that 99% of us need...:( SO it is 65 bucks to buy that..... not the end of the world but when a faucet is over $500 you would expect all the parts.....in my opinion.

Another beautiful kitchen faucet from GROHE. Let me begin by saying that Grohe is Grohe and I am not tired to repeat it, since we have a few Grohe faucets. This is another very high quality faucet from Grohe. The size and weight of this faucet is extremely impressive and makes this faucet a center piece of any kitchen. The steel optic finish is very beautiful and a pleasure to look at it. The spray head could be rotated 360 degree, which is very convenient and helpful. The spray head also can be locked and uses two different sprays. This faucet also has a very strong water pressure. The installation was straight forward and without any problems whatsoever. Thank you very much Grohe, because we are very happy with this faucet and would recommend it to everybody.
