500 sq. ft. Zoysia Sod (1-Pallet)

I had a landscaper underestimate my sod needs so I ordered another pallet from here. It came from North Carolina, arrived at 6:15 am a few days later. Installed it myself in about an hour (added manure compost under it.) Looks great. This third-party vendor was awesome to work with. Texted me throughout the process to keep me up to speed. I was expecting 2' rolls, but these were about twice as long. So heavier, but still okay for a one-person job.

This sod has exceeded my expectations. I live in the Hampton roads area of VA. This is 2 months after I laid the sod.

Zoysia sod arrived quickly and was in very good condition. Very green and not at all dried out.

Wonderful grass. This is the second year I bought for different places in my yard. Very professional company delivered exactly has discussed. I bought while the grass was still dormant, as I did last year. I find working with it while it is dormant works well. The grass "wakes" up when the day and night temperatures are around 60 consistently.

I was pleased with the life of the grass. All the way to the bottom of the pallet, I had a few pieces that were green. I've only had the grass for about 2 weeks, all I can do is wait

It was better than expected

I very rarely write reviews but I was so impressed with this product that I was compelled to do so in this case. Ordering of course was easy and notification of delivery came sooner than I was expecting. I was impressed with the quality of the soil the grass was grown in and there were very few "misshapes" so almost no waste. The grass was vibrant and healthy. In less than 10 days it looked like the resulting lawn had been there for ever. (picture provided). I would like to counter previous reviewers comments about weeds. Firstly, upon delivery of the sod, there was no indication of weeds that I could see it was just solid grass, well rooted in good soil. Grass is grown in acres of meadowland subject to birds flying overhead and pooping seeds on the meadow below plus weed seeds get carried on the wind. Weeds are going to grow faster than the grass, pick out the weeds and get over it. Secondly, Prior preparation prevents poor performance. If you make the effort to dig over the ground and remove the existing weeds, (root and all) before you lay the sod you will get good results. If you merely use a mover on its lowest setting (and even if you spray whats left with weed killer) and lay the sod on top, whatever was there before is going to grow right through your new lawn. That's just the way it is. If you are going to pay this level of money for quality grass then it pays to do the preparation otherwise you might as well save your money and sow your own crab grass.

We placed a pallet of this over a part of our playground and it looks so great. It's growing in full and we're keeping it soaked until it gets nicely rooted. The kids have not had access to it yet, but we're hoping it will hold up. So far, we are extremely pleased with this purchase!
