Questions & Answers

I need a new tire the valve stem broke or can I replace with better tires

Asked by: cbgmax
Home Depot sell replacement tires for the truck at all locations. You can put other tires on the truck if the load rating is at least 350 lb. per wheel and it fits the hand truck axle. The current tire is 10" x 3.5" with 3/4" BB and 3.25" hub width.

Asked by: Banny
The hand truck is equipped with solid plastic casters and pneumatic tires. Replacement solid rubber tires can be used on the hand truck.

I did have issues with the back wheels after 5 years or so, replaced them with some tires not needing air, zerk fitting on them, they work great. Front wheels are finally wearing down, so I'll replace those. This thing takes a beating, it was well worth a purchase.

Given the amount of loads I use the hand truck for, I’m extremely happy w/ the overall long period of use for general wear and tear on them. I keep coming back for the same model every time. It is super comfortable to use too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Caster Wheels The caster wheels are not rated properly for this product to work as advertised. I sat a 660lb safe (Liberty Franklin 27) on the dolly planning to wheel it through a house. After about 10 feet, one of the plastic caster wheels collapsed. The plastic part of the wheel split around the shaft through the middle of the wheel while rolling the safe through the house. Luckily no one was injured when this thing collapsed. I supposed this is a good dolly if you don't plan to move anything more than a couple of hundred pounds in weight. I plan to return it as defective to the store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible Wheels The tires go flat all the time. I understand this is a common problem with these so I guess that is to be expected. That said, I used these two or three times per week with a load of about 125 pounds and with the tires nearly fully inflated. If I noticed they were noticeably low I would add air. Despite this the tires cracked and the inner lining was exposed and finally one popped. I didn't neglect these but I wasn't going to inflate them every week either. Without very stressful use they failed me. What I really didn't like is how the part that secured the wheel to the axle broke within a month or so and my wheel wobbled all over the place. I added a washer that made the wheel work "well enough" and kept hobbling along. Perhaps if you love pumping up tires and moving light loads on smooth surfaces these will work for you but if you are using them outside or on uneven surfaces I bet you will wish you bought a more durable product. I'm buying replacement tires that will cost nearly as much as a new hand truck. I'm betting that these other tires will be much better than the ones that come on the truck so I guess that's the only way to get a bit more out of this truck. Certainly I wouldn't buy another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont buy this After 200-300lb the tires start letting air out of themselves. This dolly is only good if you replace the two air tires.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap tires spoil this product I bought this from Home Depot several years ago. The pneumatic tires are a very stupid idea. What home owner wants to pump up his hand truck tires every week? I let mine stay flat for four years, and now it is impossible to inflate them. I need to spend $80 (the original cost of the whole item) to buy two new tires.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ties are horrible Everything is fine except for the tires. I have had 2 of these hand carts and the tires are the worst. They go flat after a few moves. Tubeless tires? More like flat tires!
