I was able to obtain one from a nearby Home Depot warehouse. Check the website. If they say there are some available, they should be able to send one to you. My store didn't have any on the shelves either, but there were 37 in the warehouse. If need be, check with their customer service department. Good Luck!

Mine took about 2 weeks to come to store where I picked it up. Very difficult to use.

The two doors allow the animal to enter from either end.

I have found the two doors difficult to load. I use it as a one door trap and ha e caught one of the blue berry snatchers and relocated the chipmunk in the woods some 4 blocks away.

Thinking it’s to increase chances of catching something. I have one or more chipmunks and had no luck catching them with this. Hope you have better luck.

Mice aren't likely to venture into a closed space like most traps. The Havahart is open at both ends, so the mouse thinks he has a way out in front of him, so he's more likely to go after the bait. We used chunky peanut butter, apparently it's irresistible to mice. Be sure to check it every morning and move it once you catch one if you think you have more.

It really doesn't matter because the one with 2 doors is the only one you can buy. There is no 'one door' style for sale in this size trap. I'm guessing when I say it doubles your chances of catching the critter.

This trap is designed to catch one animal at a time.

I'm assuming just one, unless two mice enter together at the very same time. Once the doors come down, there's no entrance, no exit!

It can catch one animal at a time because both sides of the trap close at the same time, to keep the animal from escaping, when an animal steps on the trigger plate. I suppose there is a very small chance that multiple animals could be caught if multiple animals entered the trap at the same time but that would be unlikely. I bought two of these traps for trapping.

This trap is best used for mice, shrews, and voles. To prevent them from returning to the property, they should be relocated at least 5 miles away.

Several miles and, hopefully, in an area with fox, hawks and/or snakes. Hey, they have to eat, too!

as close to a lake as possible, there are hawks that need to be fed and they can find shelter if needed.

As far away as possible! I live in the woods so we just take a bit of a hike to release them, however, if I had the time I would say a mile away might be a good idea.
