It's a beautiful and contemporary style which goes perfect with bright brass hardware on your door. Only gripe about this product is the cheap little bulb. It should be LED. Not sure why the back piece of the housing easily comes apart while installing. I thought it was a defect and purchased another one but they all do that. It should be 1 complete unit. It's eye candy nice but cheap. I don't see this lasting more than 1 yr

Requires a Diode But Diode is Not Included
The doorbell button requires a diode in order to be fully functional. I was not aware of this when I purchased the doorbell button. After I connected the wiring and installed the doorbell button in the door frame, pushed the button to test it...there was a single, short tone, not the 5 tones normally heard when the button was pushed before this new installation. Did a little research on the internet and discovered info about diodes being required to enable the doorbell to properly function. Looked for a diode on my old doorbell button (they are small), found it, removed it, and installed it on the new doorbell button. Now it works as it should. It would be good if doorbell button came complete with diode or, at least, if some notice were posted on the outside of the package that a diode was needed for proper installation.

Classy look for this 1927 Colonial House
With the deep red new paint on the front door with period brass hardware, this product replaced a cheap plastic doorbell button. You can see it from the street to add to the beauty of the entry and the light in it is too, inviting. Easy to install.

DON'T BUY FAULTY BUTTON
I purchased this based upon looks also though their was quality, installed it then those Holly Rollers came to the door they push that button and it stuck which fried the transformer also the button is jammed the bell also is toast now I have to replace the whole system AGAIN. I guess Baldwin might make a quality button. The cheap button work but they are ugly............................................................................................................................................................................................................................

This Product is a piece of junk
I purchased this product today. When I connected the wires to it, found that one of the screws was stripped. Now have to return it to the store.

Broke within months
I purchased the button at my local HD. Loved how it looked and functioned at first. Within 4 months we had a UPS delivery at the house that rang the button. The button stuck. By the time I came home from work the stuck button fried out my chime unit resulting in the plastic inside the chime unit to melt. So my nice new door bell resulted in me having to replace my entire doorbell system. Looks great, easy to install, but based on my experience, DO NOT BUY!!!

nice button
The site pic makes the flat surface of the button look "flimsy." It is not so. I replaced a button that stuck out more with this button because of its low profile. Does the job. Glows properly. Price of these simple electrical devices always seems a bit high.
