Q:can this be used on osb subfloor
by|Nov 20, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes, it may be used on OSB subfloors. Make sure the OSB is exterior rated. This ensures it is incapable of swelling when water borne products are applied and untreated or contaminated with paint or construction materials.

          Patch yes, Leveler NO
This is a sand based filler mixture with hazards, skin contact & inhalation. It is not anything close to a self leveler in any way. It stiff enough to stay on a trowel turned sideways. Concrete has better self leveling as this is very stiff and not fluid. Not a leveler!

I purchased this to fill in a gap in my floor and to level out the gap before installing laminate flooring. It works well. I was careful to only install it in thin layers to build up the desired thickness. I found that it sometimes takes longer than 2-3 hours to dry, especially if it is filling a deep crack. Overall, I am happy with this product as it did what I needed it to do.

Had a small area in my furnace room where the floor had gotten wet and partially rotted a portion of the flooring. Used this product to fill in over that area. Worked well, the only problem I had was that it did not trowel very well. Product would stick to the trowel which made it difficult to smooth out. I had to work around several water lines as you can see in the picture. I am going to sand it down some (in picture I have done some sanding) to help smooth and level it some more. Hardened nicely and did the job!

This 1 Qt. Pre-Mixed Patch and Level doesn't dry in 2-3 hours that is a misleading information. I applied and waited over 3 hours and it was still wet it had just began to get little bit drier but it wasn't enough for me to complete my task. I had to leave the job side and return back the next day as i didn't want to wait longer doing nothing but just waiting to put the tiles on the floor. Other than this issue it is a good product does what it supposed to do. I would only buy it again if i don't need an urgent repair.

            Great product for concrete patches.
Great product. I bought this to fill on the holes left in my concrete sub-floor by removing carpet tack strips. The product does smooth very well and dries pretty quick. For me it dried as a slightly brown tint but will be installing laminate flooring on top of this so do not care.

            did the job
The pre-mixed patch mixture was easy to apply and dried fast. It evened out the cracks and low spot in the concrete floor to enable the tiles to be laid flat.
