don't use on ponding roofs!
I purchased 20 gallons of durabrite ACRYLIC white elastomeric roof coating, cleaned and prepped the roof, and let it dry, then applied first coat. I waited 24 hours then applied the second coat. After after 2 months, I noticed there was wrinkling and it was bubbling in places where water was ponding. I contacted the company, and the company said you use the wrong product…this doesn't work with roofs with ponding water. They would not honor the 10 year warranty, and told me to buy and use the silicone based coating. Where was that in all the reviews and instructions?

Rick, we are sorry that you were not happy with the performance of Henry 587 Dura-Brite. Henry acrylic roof coatings are designed to reflect the damaging UV rays of the sun and to cool both the roof surface and the interior of the dwelling. Henry 587 is not a waterproof product and should never be used to stop leaks or in areas where water stands for more than 48 hours. On the front of the Henry Dura-Brite label there is a "WARNING" in bold letters. Underneath the warning it says "See Back Panel for Precautionary Information". In that area it says "NOTE" ponding water resistant for up to 48 hours. For older low slope roofs where depressions pond water for extended periods, Pond Patch is recommended to provide positive slope in those areas to eliminate ponding. Follow all product label instructions before coating". You can also address your ponding water areas with a coating of Henry 887 TropiCool 100% Silicone. Henry 887 is waterproof and permanently ponding water resistant. There are a great deal of roof coating/roof repair products on the market all of which have very specific instructions for their use and their application on their labels. It is incumbent upon the purchaser to read and follow all of the label instructions to achieve the results desired. Again, we are sorry that you were dissatisfied with your expectations of how Henry Dura-Brite would perform. We used this method n a storage container. We put two coats on as it suggested. I took a reading from a digital thermometer and it was 10-15 degrees cooler on the inside metal compared to another one next to it! Great product.

JMorgan, nice comments about how effective our acrylic white coatings are. All of our Henry acrylic white coatings are highly reflective so that they reduce the heat on the roof and defend against the destructive UV rays of the sun. Saves $40 per month in Phx & Lowers indoor temp10f
Painted this onto my 15 year old white shingles roof. Used 8 buckets painting with 18 inch Wooster pro roll brush and extension handle. Amazing how little my air conditioning and attic fan runs now. Have tons of insulation but already seeing ac bill drop 40$ a month compared to previous summers. Normal bills are 200 to 250. Now with white roof it is 150 to 180. Thank you so much henry! Amazing product!!!

Good deal for the price.
A bit thinner than I remember it being but appears to be good enough to last a few years. Wasn't about to spring for the hundred bucks plus formula!

Rain Washed Away After Seven Days Of Drying
I applied the Acrylic Reflective Elastomeric Roof Coating in hot dry weather doing so over a period of days. A week after finishing the project we got a heavy rain. The coating that had been applied nine days or longer before the rain did fine. However, the coating that had been applied seven days before the rain washed off. This product should only be used during long dry spells which are rare where I live. Henry really needs to improve their formulation for better drying time.

Good stuff - the final ingredient in flat roof restoration
Nine years ago I coated equal-size sections of a large garage roof with Henry 587, Henry 287, and a competitor's product. The 287 fared the worst, the 587 is still doing fine. So I used it again on this roof restoration project. After repairing the surface, coating it with 107 asphalt emulsion, and embedding T272 roofing fabric in the final layer, I put on two coats of 587 for solar reflectance and UV protection. Looks great and really cooled the roof down.

"Complete waste of time and money. Spent hours researching products, then hours cleaning and prepping the patio roof for this coating. Home Depot shook the container for us. Applied the first coat it was looking great. 3 hours later applied a second after is was dry to walk on. The next day it rained and washed the majority of he product off the roof. We are in middle GA so the temps were in the 90's. The runoff looked like latex paint. I will not recommend this product."

As this is a water based acrylic, this needs to cure a minimum of 48-72 hours before any expected rainfall. Once you reintroduce water into a water based product, it will re-emulsify if not completely cured. Contacted Henry as requested, spoke with Ralph. He stated this product would wash off if not completely cured for 48 hours, that even dew could affecct the way this product. He let me know I had wasted my money, and time contacting Henry.
