Russell, you should not heat Henry 812 RoofSaver. RoofSaver should be applied at the temperature of at least 50 degrees or above. You will need to keep the pump sprayer at maximum pressure and it helps to have a small container of water to dip the spray nozzle into fairly often to keep the product from clogging.
Proxybox, we have not tested High Volume low pressure systems with this product, you would need to test it to see if it would work for you.
proxybox, it would be better to roll on the Henry 812 and then scatter the granules to the point of rejection over the coating to make sure that you have good adhesion. It should not be necessary to apply a second coat over the granules.
Paul, if you want to apply Henry 812 RoofSaver with a spray gun you can use a normal airless paint sprayer that can produce 500 to 1,000 PSI. You should use a 0.30 to a 0.40 tip or if using a fan tip it would be a 519 or 530 which would give you a 10" wide spray at 1 foot off the surface.
Kitty, Henry 812 RoofSaver has a suggested coverage rate of 200 square feet per gallon. Rough surfaces vary the coverage rate to about 100 square feet per gallon depending on the porosity and roughness of the substrate.
Rick, Henry 812 is a sealer that is designed to lock in the granules on aged shingles and prevent further granule loss. It is not a waterproof product but it does help make shingles a bit more water resistant. The sole purpose of Henry 812 is to make old shingles last up to 5 years longer.
Aaron, yes you can spray Henry 812 RoofSaver in an airless paint sprayer. You will need a sprayer that can produce 500 to 1,000 psi. Spray one foot off the surface using a fan tip like a 519 or 530.
Mike, Henry 812 RoofSaver can be applied by spray, roller or brush. If spraying the sealer should be applied in one thin pass with just enough sealer to mist the granules . Avoid drips and runs especially on steep-slope roofs and in overlapping areas. Over application of the sealer may result in streaks or uneven drying. Over application of the sealer does not hinder its ability to protect the roof and is only cosmetic in nature. If using a roller use a 1/2" nap roller or if brushing use a soft-bristle paint brush. Evenly apply the sealer in a single thin pass.
