AnswerThe max cutting depth is 2.24" and is recommended to cut metal pipe, Strut, angle iron and sheet metal. Cutting into an I-beam and 1" thick sheet metal it is not an application recommended for day to day use.

AnswerHello Bill, yes when cutting with the Hilti SCM 22-A you could still use the threads on the rod like a band saw. The user would need to make sure they are cutting at a 90 degree angle and using the cold cut metal blade. Thank you!
