Q:14 inch nife with red and black handle it is about 14 inches long and 8-9 inches high

Answer This Question

A:  it was weak and lousy

by|Feb 22, 2023

A:  I figured this out. 12 inches means it is a smaller tray and only fits nifes less than 12 inches. I cut the end off the tray to fix it and it works now

        Poorly Made, Cheapest Quality
I originally bought a similar item (ToolPro, Internet # 300870978 Model # TP03060) to use in making scented incense sticks. It worked fine. When I went to buy more this Mickey Mouse thing was the only plastic mud tray I found on the HD site. I bought 3 thinking I was buying the same thing. WRONG. I realize they weren't make for use with fragrance oil but I didn't expect this inferior item to totally melt when in contact with it. Whatever type of plastic it is (there is no recycling code on the bottom) it dissolves when in contact with F.O. As for use for drywall mud...the single metal blade sits loosely inside the thing and falls out the instant you touch it. The ToolPro has two metal blades and they don't budge. The plastic on the Homax is half the thickness of the ToolPro. For what it's worth the Homax is Hecho en China while the ToolPro is (surprisingly) Made in USA. The ToolPro costs twice as much but is definitely worth the difference.

These mud trays, make wonderful windowsill planters! Purchased a dozen of these, over time. The metal strip, is easily removed and holes are easily burned in the bottom, with a hole punch, heated over a gas range. A drill can also be used, but I prefer burning, to prevent accidental cracking of the tray.. I use one to plant in and one underneath, as a drip tray. Also can be adapted, to self water, with cotton wicks. So glad I found these!
