Homax 25 oz. Wall orange peel Spray Texture features an oil-based formula with a 5 minute dry time allowing the user to quickly complete a wall repair. The special formulation is designed to patch a variety of Orange Peel wall textures using the patented adjustable nozzle.         For the Orange Peel or Knockdown, it depends how heavy its applied. If applied heavy its 30 square feet per can, if its applied lighter then it covers 60 square feet per can.

          No, you really shouldn't. Of course you could if your doing some strange DIY work on unconventional material such as drywall (which this is intended for) But short answer, No.

                I would not recommend for exterior use. The areas sprayed for touch up in our home were easily dented and removed. For an interior wall it’s fine, because the elements aren’t an issue. When cleaning a wall from grime (kids/pets) it will come off if rubbing too much but it does the job to repair small areas.

                      I removed a window in my wife's sewing room and framed and resheeted with sheetrock on the interior wall. I used this product to match the texture in the rest of the room and then painted with acrylic latex paint. It turned out great.

                        Follow directions and it works!
                        In a world of manipulated 4.8 star reviews of products that are actually terrible I felt it was worthwhile to share my experience with this one. I think a lot of the issues here are user error and poor prep. If you’re expecting to use this product to blend in with existing textured surface you’re going to have a difficult time and mixed results as I have had in the past…don’t expect perfection. You can totally get perfection on a blank slate though…at a cost. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY…including the upside down sprays to clear the nozzle after any pause in spraying. If you are covering an entire section of wall and properly smooth and prep the surface before hand with primer, then you can achieve fantastic results as evidenced in my photos. There is some learning curve as well and if you’ve never used this before you’re going to want to do some practice sprays on a spare surface. I have also found that the oil based version is superior to the water based and was really low odor for oil based. I covered all the white portions of the walls in the photos after smoothing with a skim coat, sanding and priming, I also primed the texture again after it dried. Be gentle when priming after applying texture and don’t go to heavy on the coat or you’ll wet down the texture to much and destroy it. It dries very quickly. My only con is that it’s very expensive, not cost efficient at all to cover a large section of wall…just hire a pro with a hopper in that case. Three cans exactly and $60 to do the work in the pictures.

                          Messy. I had used the water based one before and had no problems it sprayed where I wanted it at a consistent spray and it was easy to blend in I’d give that one a 4 star rating. I did not look closely at the can because I never knew there were both water and oil types The oil one just sort of spurted out uneven spray and look. It also had overspray problems to,deal with. The texture is nowhere close to what I wanted with some huge globs. Cleanup is a miserable experience. The smell will drive my wife insane. Never ever get this. I don’t know what to do now. It’s dry and I’m guessing that it you want to remove it hat you would have to sand it bare and reapply the latex. I don’t have that much time.

                            Over priced and over sold
                            I had 25 sf and that includes the blended area… first can barely did half that plus… a second can and same results… on the first can the nozzle fell off, the second one didn’t spray well and adjustment was not much as first one. Smell is pretty high on this for a couple hours and at least an hour to get dry. Next time I’ll try WATER based but as this was in a bathroom I thought the OIL based would be better. My ceiling is a flattened texture and the oil base didn’t trowel well. $21 ea. 😡

                              Poor product
                              i wish i could give zero. I have an area 3'x5' and used entire bottle and it is not even close to the picture.

                              Terrible Spray (Bad pressure, bad nozzle)
                              The problem with this can is that even with all the recommendations (Put can in warm water for 15 minutes, shake intensely for 3 minutes, and shake during use) the pressure sucked, the nozzle fell off, and nothing be adjusted. Waste of $20

                                Disappointed! Homax Pro grade is excellent. This is garbage!
                                I've use Homax Pro grade wall texture in the past with excellent results. However, both Home Depot and all other hardware stores in the area were out of stock so I reluctantly bought three cans of this. Total garbage! The nozzle is total crap and falls out of the can. Half the product leaked out over my hand and the rest covered less than 25 square feet at finest setting. I ended up with splotchy runny mess on the wall and had to wait for it to dry to sand it off. My customer not happy and I'm out several hours of labor to fix the mess this product caused. DO NOT BUY this! Homax should pull this product off the shelf.

                                Hi Calvin, one tip to help minimize the air bubbles is to spray the texture warmer. Place the can in a bowl of warm tap water for 10-15 minutes to heat up the texture and then shake very well before spraying.                                   Wish it had more coverage.
                                  Worked well, did smell, use ventilation. 2 notches below medium setting gave me 25 ft.² coverage which is a 3rd of what they said it could do maximum. Don't waste much on testing. Start In the middle with small blasts on cardboard to match your wall.

                                    After reading the directions and doing a couple test runs on some cardboard a ferret out exactly what Setting I needed to use to match the current texture and it worked perfectly could even tell The wall was ripped apart. I give it a 10 out of 10. Make sure you do a practice run on a piece of cardboard to match your wall.
