I was very surprised at the realism of the plates. Although they are plastic (melamine) they look just like a ceramic plate. no one was able to tell they were Melamine until they picked them up. A great set to keep around for entertaining on the patio, taking to a picnic, keeping at the cabin / boat or in the RV. dishwasher safe. Do not use in the microwave or oven. the spirals you see in pictures are actually embedded into the plate so they are not perfectly smooth. has a nice shallow profile to keep saucy foods from spilling off without feeling like its almost a bowl.

These Home Decorators Collection Melamine Dinner Plates are ideal for all casual meals. We wanted colorful, party type plates so we ordered the Azria Multicolor set. We like that they are light weight, easy to handle and are great for indoor meals or outdoor BBQ use. They are easy to clean and are dishwasher safe. The only con is they are not microwave safe so you can not reheat leftovers on them.

These are very good quality melamine plates. I wanted these as an alternative to disposable plates when we host parties. I got this set of 6 plates to go along with the matching "Azria Melamine Dinnerware Set", which has plates and bowls. These melamine plates are quite thick, very tough, and look so much nicer than disposable plates. They are lightweight and are dishwasher safe. While they will need to be washed after a party, I'm happy to put them in the dishwasher after a party instead of using cheap disposable plates. I love the blue color and the wavy circle pattern design. They really do look quite good for 'plastic' plates, and I'm far less concerned about kids dropping them during a party. Note: Melamine is NOT microwave safe, so these are good for serving and eating, but not meant for re-heating food in the microwave.

They are very lightweight so we use them mainly for sandwiches and lunches. They are for casual use and easy to carry and wash. There are three designs available - laguna blue, ivory, and multicolor. They can be mixed and matched. The bottoms have a stonewear appearance. They will get a lot of use for sure.

They are easy to clean and very easy to handle, and we use these instead of our heavier dinnerware. The tan has the appearance of stoneware. They come in three colors - blue, ivory, and multi-color medallion so you are able to mix and match. They are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Home Decorators Collection Azria Melamine Dinner Plates in Ivory Gloss (Set of 6), are a great addition to the dinnerware set for four for those times when the crowd comes to town. The pieces are nicely shaped and do a great job of looking like glazed pottery. They are unlike pottery in that the weight is very much less. They are perfect for casual dining outside or inside. From my viewpoint there is one downside, while they are top rack dishwasher safe, they are not microwaveable. My wife and I are frequently interrupted during meals by either our children or their children and microwave reheat is a staple in our diet. Other than that, these are very nice.

These are great plates for camping, picnics, or just daily use. They would be perfect for motor home travel. They are heavy enough not to bend and although the are not for the dishwasher, they are very easy to clean and stack. I have the set of bowls and lunch plates also and basically use them for all informal type meals. They have a nice finish and don’t break. Perfect for summer picnics or travel.

There are lots of reasons to choose melamine over traditional plates. They’re great for an outdoor party, when you want something nicer than paper plates, but don’t want to risk using something precious or breakable. They’re also great indoors for everyday family use if you like including kids in setting the table. Their lightweight makes it safe and possible for even the youngest children to handle. But what we found appealing about these dinner plates is that the look is so realistic your guests will think you’re using the “good” stuff, especially at first glance. The concentric ridges on the surface really help give these plates that “authentic, hand-thrown pottery” look and feel. Ironically though, those ridges prevent the plates from stacking neatly (see pic). Not a big deal, unless like us, you’re a neat freak. We also really liked that the ivory color is sufficiently neutral that you can be creative with your tablescape, pairing them with other colors or designs throughout the seasons. Their generous size at 10.5 inches makes them large enough to hold multiple courses. It also means they can act as a “holder” for the largest paper plates, providing a sturdy base while not adding much weight even when loaded up with picnic food. Plus the raised rim makes them easier to hold while walking around with a fully loaded plate at a picnic. There are a few negatives, though. A couple of the plates in our set had noticeable manufacturing flaws that look like scratches but are actually in the color/design (see pic). And while these plates are labeled as dishwasher safe, that is top rack only. They should NOT be used in a microwave, which precludes a quick warm up of whatever you’re serving. The plates are made from Melamine which is a type of plastic that manufactures use to make plastic plates and utensils. The color pattern is very nice plus the plates are light weight but durable. The plates are dishwasher safe and have become my favorite plates to use when eating at the dinner table, outside on the deck or my favorite place in my recliner watching TV. I think the design will go with any type of decor and color scheme.
