Concerned about what people have said about this floor being "noisy" - is it creaking or is it just the noise you get with any wood floor when there was carpet or other soft surface there before?
Asked by: AJ
It's creaking everywhere after less than 2 weeks. STAY AWAY from this product at all cost.

Can I move my large refrigerator across the floor after installation?

Asked by: Katy
Yes, but be very careful. I would suggest putting it on a dolly cart to move it or on a soft blanket to help move it to protect the floor. Try not to slide it too far because any tiny particles on the floor could scratch the floor.

Are their different patterns in each box or is there a set amount of patterns?
Asked by: Poulsbobill
there seems to be a set number... but the beauty of this floor is that it doesn't match up perfectly it is "distressed" I have had this floor down for 4 years and love it more each day Wears great and doesn't show every little bit of dirt and yes I have animals

can you recommend a cleaning process

Asked by: Moki
You can use cleaners meant for laminate flooring and a soft mop. If you vacuum, don't use a brush, which can scratch the floor. Avoid wax, oil soap, polish and any abrasive cleaners.

This flooring is beautiful and durable. It goes with all decor and has held up very well over the last 3 years. We have this flooring in our entire house (with the exception of the bathroom). We have moved furniture countless times, done home renovations, my husband is a musician so he is constantly wheeling gear in and out of the house. We also have kids and a dog that are not the most gentle on the floor, we've spilled, scraped, dropped heavy things etc. The only con is that there are definitely scratches in some places, but these are scratches from heavy duty things (like the dryer) not being carefully moved but unless you are on your hands and knees looking you can't find the scratches. I should also add that against Home Depots suggestion we chose not to have them level our concrete sub floor so there are places in the flooring that are squeaky and there feels like there is a little more give but we chose not to have it done and thus knowingly voided the warranty. Even so they have held up great! I'd chose these floors again in a heart beat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Install in basement 1000 sq/ft I read the reviews here and was surprised at all the comments of people say how hard it was to install and they returned it etc. I went ahead and bought it anyway as I have some experience in putting down floor but am by no means an expert. This flooring is actually very easy to install. I put down over 1000sq/ft in my basement over concrete floor with no problem. It's very easy to snap together and unlike some brands of laminate floor you can connect this in both directions meaning you can start with a straight line in the center of your room and build out both side. Many other laminates can only be built in one direction. Some folks mention putting in one end and the other popping out, this sort of happens but is very easy to solve. With an off cut of the floor, use it as a piece to put into the groove and hammer the other side with a rubber mallet. It will snug all the boards together very easily. Overall, this is very easy to install, looks great and is well priced. Ignore the reviews explaining this product is difficult to install.

This floor was installed in our kitchen, dining room and living room. It looks very nice, but creaks constantly. My wife is 120 lbs. and I am 220, it does not matter who walks on the floor, very noisy. Very frustrating with a brand new home, and the installer claims there is nothing he can do.

We had this flooring and recommended underlayment installed in the whole 1400 sf house about 6 months ago [and paid approx $7k]. After a great deal of stress with the installation process with HD, we were thrilled when the floor was finally installed and they are beautiful! HOWEVER, THEY CREAK and Crinkle and I am MISERABLE! My wife thinks it makes them sound like OLD wood floors and doesn't hate them as much as I do. I had read some warnings and other comments that applauded them in these threads and took the leap of faith. Would love to know how to stop the very annoying noise or what else we can do? SIDE NOTE: When the product first arrived, I stepped on the board and heard crinkling but when I placed underlayment under same board crinkle stopped. At this time Im Sorry we move forward...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from low quality and very hard to install This flooring is hard to install, its not like the traditional laminate flooring I have installed before. These are made cheap and the tongue and groove material is like cardboard and kept flaking off, often times getting stuck in the groove and inhibiting proper placement. We ere unable to use many pieces due to this problem. Also, after about a week a few pieces started coming up. After tearing up the floor to investigate, it was due to the locking system coming apart and getting stuck in the groove. Those had to be replaced. We followed the instructions to a T and this stuff just isn't good quality. Also, the end joints don't snap together but simply lay over the top of each other, so make sure your first couple of rows are perfect and I do mean perfect. We purchased 800 sq ft but after installing the first room we took the rest back. This stuff was a nightmare to install. Even the contractor who helped us reccomended we take it back, he thinks it will not hold up and eventually come apart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pretty, but diffacult to start and put down Just put the floors down and like most have mentioned, starting off was the most difficult and problematic of this laminate. We literally broke the tongue and groves off 4 boards before we finally got it to work. Once We got 4 rows connected, it started to flow pretty easy. We installed just over 700 sqft, which worked out to be about 38 boxes total. We had several cuts to make, which made things more difficult.. Overall, the majority of the room, without major cuts, took about 6 hours to install. With the cuts it easily took another 5 hours with 2 people working together. The floors do look very nice, the quality seems to be pretty good. Those that have seen our room say it has made our house look brand new and they couldn't tell much of a difference between this and real wood. If you are laying a pretty small square room... I would use these again. And there simply isn't enough DIY videos to watch on this to prepare yourself for the problems you will face.

I had an independent contractor install this floor 2-1/2 years ago to replace carpet in my three bedrooms. I have not had any issues with crackling, scratching, warping or other negative outcomes. However, I do not have dogs, and my children are in their 20's, not prone to playing with their toys on the floor! So perhaps my floor doesn't take the hardest abuse. I have had a small amount of water spilled on it which actually sat for a couple of days with no effect on the floor. The contractor put a thick underlayment as a base for the floor which has kept it quiet, and after installation, he put felt pads on the bottom of all furniture used in those rooms to keep them from scratching/denting. But the floor does feel very durable and it looks beautiful. I am very pleased with the color and the wood grain. As far as laminate goes, I am very happy with this floor.

So far I have installed about 275 sq. ft. of this product, about one third of my total project, over a 26 year old concrete sub-floor after removing carpet and carpet tack, patching divots in the concrete, and laying a moisture barrier underlayment. It's not the first laminate project I have done, so experience is a plus with this flooring. I was a little hesitant to purchase this after reading some of the reviews, but I have found that if I go slow, check each piece carefully before installing it, and make sure each piece is secure and level before proceeding, it goes down well and looks great. A rubber mallet and tapping block are essential, so I recommend investing in an installation kit, which should have those plus spacers, etc. The floor looks very nice and seems like it should be durable and long-lasting. I have not experienced any of the "creaking" or unusual noise reported by some reviewers. I think it's priced well, especially after a recent price drop. I would recommend this flooring to anyone that has the time and patience to work slowly and carefully with it. Highly experienced professional installers may be able to work faster, but I would want to make sure they take the time to get each piece straight and level. Giving it four stars because it's not a quick and easy "snap in" product - just requires a little adjusting for some pieces after snapping them in place.
