AnswersNo, the fittings of the top plate and at the top of the box are the same, so at least 1 rod must be used. There is no power cord, just individual line, neutral and ground wires. A properly installed electrical box in the ceiling is required before the light fixture can be installed. If you do not know how to install this I highly recommend hiring an electrician.
Can additional rods be purchased?

AnswersUnfortunately, you can't buy additional rods separately. Our ceilings are 9' tall and we didn't use all of our rods. We purchased 3 lights, and had at least 3 extra rods, but for some reason it seems more like we had 6 rods remaining.
Is the shade directly attached to the pendant or is it removable?

AnswersWe purchased bulbs similar in shape and size to the Edison bulb, but just clear. While the Edison bulbs gives an authentic look, it doesn't provide enough light. We still love the light.

Those are nice pendant lights. We wanted something that matches the chandelier at our breakfast area and those boxy bronze pendant lights worked out well. Design is simple and finish is good quality. We used LED vintage style bulbs and suspended those above our granite island.

Love the look!
Love the look of these lights and they didn’t break the bank! The price was right, and we were really happy with the vintage look. They aren’t super bright, more of an ambience feature. You could probably replace the bulbs with brighter bulbs, but without a shade they might be too blinding. The lights that came with it are a nice Edison light, they do get a little warm and probably won’t last as long so we might look for some LED Edison bulbs. Easy to install. Fit our kitchen very well.

She loved it and the warm glowing light bulb provides a welcoming glow. We have a duplicity of finishes in our home and the bronze simple design of this fixture is not lost but has found its place in our decor. We have had the light for almost a week and have not quite adjusted to the dim intensity that this light bulb puts out. We tried a clear white light bulb but did not care for the hard shadows it cast from the crossbars of the fixture design. I would recommend this fixture with the contingency of not expecting to fill a whole room with floods of light.
