Q:The fan does not turn on (i.e. blades do not rotate and lights do not turn on) at times. If I leave the switch off for a while it starts working back again. This happens randomly, perhaps once or twice a month. Is this is a one off issue?

Great Outdoor Fan
The Highstone 70 in. White Color Changing Indoor/Outdoor Brushed Nickel Smart Ceiling Fan with Remote Powered by Hubspace is a great looking product. The instructions are okay but the video was excellent in helping me in the installation. The whole process only took about 50-60 minutes and mostly because I was outside on my patio in 110F weather. The most difficult step was installing the receiver with the house and fan wiring in the small space available. I love longer blades for more coverage and style. The fan speeds seem slower than the indoor fans but I like that. I tried connecting to the WIFI but it only uses a 2.4GHz network and my Verizon router only shows a 5GHz. I still can use the Hubspace app on my phone to control it with Bluetooth. I like the fact I can change fan rotation from the remote without climbing to the unit for a switch. Overall I would recommend this outdoor fan for installation, style and performance.

Cool color changing ceiling fan with great remote
This item arrived well packaged with no broken or missing parts. It is constructed with high quality materials, and has an excellent modern design. It comes with good, detailed installation instructions, so even a newbie should be able to install this (remember to throw the breaker to the room before you proceed). This would be great for fixing up a home to sell.

This fan replaced another one that I had paid twice as much for and never lived up to our expectations. This fan is quiet, beautiful, and moves a LOT of air. We love this fan! Definitely recommend.

Large Fan
Really big and pretty fan - got this to move more air in our living room and the larger blades do a great job. They are concave and swooped which forces the air down - more than a fan with flat blades. It’s got a large LED light that’s bright and changeable. Our previous Dan has a remote and this one does too which is really nice. Build quality seems to be good and the finish of all the metal parts is really nice. The motor unit seems pretty beefy!

Huge
This Home Decorators Highstone 70 in indoor/outdoor(must be in covered patio) is huge.it works with alexa and google assistance.it was easy to install though a little on the heavy side and the remote inside could use wires about 3 inches longer to make it easier to install.it ueses about $6 in electricity per year and it can put out close to 9,000 cubic feet per minute of air.it is well made and well designed. The blades look like an airplane propeller. It also comes with a remote and an LED so you never need light bulbs.

Great Air Flow
I ordered this fan/light to replace a 40 inch fan because my bedroom is large and the little fan wasn't producing any airflow.
This one was easy enough to put up. Watching the installation video on the fan's product page made it really easy, but the written manual would have worked, too. The video is under the description tab on it's Home Depot page.
It took me about 3 hours to hang it, including taking down my old fan and putting some drywall on the ceiling so I wouldn't have to take down the fan to put up some later. I'm an older lady and I did it by myself so it's totally doable.
I was really impressed with the fan blades! They aren't compressed wood. They're more a plastic/wood and super tough and super light weight. I loved screwing them on to the fan housing from above, rather than from below, which is harder on the arms.
Now, my bedroom is cooler, the air moves and I can actually feel it.
This light has different light levels and colors. I like the gold tone the best but they're all good, some are brighter than others, which is nice to set a mood.
The remote has a holder so it can go on the wall or where you need it.
I once tried to put up a different big light/fan but it required special knowledge to wire a special switch. This one doesnt. It's normal wiring and the remote changes the fan speed, direction and lights.
This smart fan can also be controlled over wifi with an app. I probably won't bother, but it's there.
It's a big fan for my bedroom but it can be placed outside, too (where wired and covered.) You can use the light kit or not have a light on it.
PS...I put it on an 8 ft ceiling. I'm 6 feet tall and I have plenty of headroom.

Quality fan with many features
We selected this fan for use in a large upstairs gameroom. The result is awesome as we finally have both adequate light and air movement to make the room comfortable. Installation of this fan is straight forward and not unlike other Home Decorators fans. The instructions have good diagrams and descriptions to accompany the step by step instructions. The fan is a great choice for a DIY project. I would note that since this fan is a bit larger and heavier than standard size fans a second person is helpful when lifting the fan into the mounting bracket. The satin finish of the fan is flawless. The blades are ABS but have a wood appearance, very nicely done. The LED light produces a lot of light and can be changed from 6 different color temperatures from 2700K-6500K, This fan can produce a lot of air movement, up to 8867 CFM. This fan is perfect for a large room. The remote control is responsive and easy to use. This is also a smart fan so it can be controlled on the hubspace app which is easy to setup. It will also work with voice control with Alexa or Google assistant. This is my second smart fan from Home Decorators and both have been great and they have a lifetime warranty on the motor. The fan is reversible and can be mounted on a flat or sloped ceiling with the appropriate downrod. Overall a quality fan at a great price point.

Love this fan
The 70 inch Highstone indoor/outdoor ceiling fan from the Home Decorators collectionis awesome. This was the first ceiling fan that I have ever assembled, that needed no out of balance adjustment. The installation instructions were simple to read. And it covered all areas properly. This fan puts out a great volume of air. And the light is adjustable from cool to very bright settings. And the fan has a WI-FI antenna jnstalled. But I have not used this feature yet. We love this fan.

Love this fan
We love this new fan. It replaces a smaller and more traditional fan that we've had for years in our sunroom with 10 ft ceiling. It is on the larger size for 70" diameter and pushes much more air. Installation instructions are good and i was able to put it up by myself without issues.
The fan has 5 speed settings which is very nice. It is not noisy at all. The integrated LED light offers multiple color temperatures from warm white to soft to natural and all the way to cool white. It is dimmable too.
The only complaint is that using the remote can be a little finicky at times. You don't get any feedback that the function you pressed was received by the fan, say if you're reducing the fan spred from #5 to #3, you dont really lnow of it did unless you wait and confirm thay it slowed down.

This review is for the Home Decorators Collection Highstone 70 in. White Color Changing Indoor/Outdoor Brushed Nickel Smart Ceiling Fan with Remote Powered by Hubspace. If you’re moving toward voice-controlled fixtures, this is a fan that can be controlled by Google Assistant or Alexa; it’s a great feature. It can also be controlled by a phone app or the included remote. It has 5 speeds and the LED light fixture is dimmable with 5 color temperatures all controllable with the voice, app or remote. If you choose not to use the light fixture, there is a brushed nickel cover to replace the fixture. All the remote features make it handy for outdoor usage as well as the overall size of the blades. I like the design of the fan and the air movement. Installation is typical when replacing an existing fan. If you’re not familiar with Hubspace, it’s a new smart home platform that makes home products easy to set up and control using a smart app/hub.
