I do like the look of this coffee table , but the top does not open like the images show. There are side rails that are supports when fully open, but they serve no purpose since it only opens up half way.
I would recommend it for the look but don't expect the functionality to be the same.

Design has been modified
The table is nice. Looks good and it has a rugged home made vibe to it. If you’re looking for perfect, this is not the table to get. The design has been modified from it’s original design it seems. The left and right swing out tops has been fitted with hinges that restrict the top from fully opening and using the sliders that support the tops. I could easily remove the hinges but that would void the warranty I suspect. So any damage caused by the modification would not be covered. Nice one manufacturer. Over all... it’s cool

Very pretty finish. I am very happy with this purchase. Looks even nicer than the picture. The only problem we had was slight damage because the shipper didn't follow the "This side up" directions. My husband was able to fix the damage.

The Maldives coffee table I ordered from Home Depot is exactly as pictured. It is beautiful in my living room! I was able to remove the wine bottle holders without issue. I put a throw in the middle compartment and 2 bed pillows and a quilt in the right side compartment. I still have the left side to fill! The little drawer is perfect for extra batteries and remotes.

poor craftsmanship
Well I guess I should have taken the reviews this product received seriously. Such a beautiful piece, but craftsmanship has a lot to be desired. Hinges were not placed well at the back, none of the lids sit properly, they over lap each other causing it to not be flush. Pieces missing will take some work to fix it all. The reason I purchased it was because it matches my 2 end tables definitely not worth the money spent. Unsatisfactory
