    Q:I don't think you understand. How big is the thumb screw in the curve of the bracket? The one you tighten to stabilize the rod. I am not talking about what you screw into the wall.

    A:  Dear Kevin. The screw size is 3/16" and the length is 5/9" . We did understand your question. However, we are selling a bracket for curtain rods and not a thumb screw. Therefore, we wanted to explain to you the purpose of the thumb screw you are referring to, because you did not provide us with a reason for this question. The thumb screw on this bracket can only tighten a 7/8" or 1" rod.

      A:  Dear Kevin. This bracket is only suitable for 1" and 7/8" rod. The size of the screw was made to fit these two diameter rods.

          A:  Hi DeeCee, These curtain rod brackets are designed to be installed on a wall to hang the curtain on the rod horizontally. We don’t recommend ceiling mounting.

            A:  I'm sure they could be, but you wouldn't have any room to put a curtain rod in if they were up against the ceiling. (?) I installed mine on the top of the inside of a window, so in general, yes, a "top" installation is possible, as opposed to a "back" installation.

              Projection curtain rod bracket is not strong. It cannot hold the curtain rod and the curtain .there should be two screws at the other side of the base bracket in order to strongly hold the curtain and curtain rod
